Do u use calmag at full strength? I never heard of magAmped
I usually use 25% strength CalMag and MagAmped. MagAmped is made by Cutting Edge Solutions and is pure Magnesium. I don't like having to add more CalMag when all I really want is the Mg so I supplement the CalMag with MagAmped. H&G says that their base nutes have enough Cal and Mg but I don't think that's true for marijuana.

EDIT: I checked my journal and my numbers were off.

Do u follow the online feeding chalculator?
Yeah pretty much, but I always check my plants to see if I am over or underfeeding them. It really depends on your method of growing; in DWC I recommend starting at 50% strength base and 75% additives and go from there, in coco you can start at 75% base and 80-90% additives.

Holy crap, read all 135 pages,i learned alot from everyone, thanks guys.

im not not in the position to buy the whole lineup right now but I will definitely consider it for future use.
i got a free sample of root excelerator and shooting powder from my local shop about two months ago,I haven't used the SP yet but the root excel works amazing on the few plants I have used it on.

i know this thread is is exclusively for house and garden. But I am kind of curious if anyone has had any success only using H&G's additives and a different baseline?any pics?

anyways I hope this thread doesn't die,in the future I want to setup two small flower rooms with the same strains, one using only H&G,and one using a competitors baseline and H&G's additives.

FYI H&G additives are the expensive part of the lineup, the base nutes are very cheap in comparison.

So far I have only used H&G but I am going to do a side by side comparison with another complete lineup soon to see if it's worth all this money.

Ok, I finally read through this whole freaking thread. It took many hours (over several months lol), but I've got lots of good notes and learned allot of tips.

Thanks to all the previous posters, even the ones that were obviously inexperienced and really shouldn't give advice on topics they don't fully understand.

So I've got some questions that weren't really covered, at least well enough to make good decisions:
1. Are Coco amendments like dolomite (one poster mentioned "Soil Sweet" brand additive, as an example) effective when running a synthetic nute line like H&G?
2. I'm thinking of starting with an organic guano mix (like the one AskEd's Coco Guide over on GC) for transplanting, as the plants move from cubes to cups to pots. I figure this would save me having to make small batches of low-ppm nutes, and I would only have to water them until maybe a week after they land in their final 3-5gal pots, then start them on the H&G (week 2 or three) . Is this feasible or recommended? That mix is supposed to have everything a plant needs nutrition-wise for a few weeks.

Any idea what could be causing this all the new growth is twisted. I cut these clones about a week ago they looked the same before cutting. In coco using h&g coco with 3ml per gallon of calimagic ph 5.8 temp 78 rh 25% under 4ft t5

I keep the Rh in my clone room at 50%+

Per earlier readings in this thread, I'm to understand airstones should not be used with H&G as it causes elements to fall out of solution. How about a waterfall? A standard pump with a 1/2" riser, with a head on it that lets a flat, 6" wide stream of water cascade out. Will this have the same effect of having nutes fall out, or would it be ok to try?

A related question concerns multiple pumps in the the rez. I've been told pretty strenuously that the emf's of multiple pumps are bad as, again, it causes nutes to fall out of solution. Is this correct or over-stated?

Thanks for any/all replies

Ah, that's totally counter to what I thought. I thought we wanted the water as oxygenated as possible.

Thanks for the quick response, Jberry

Most beneficial bacteria are oxygen loving but H&G went the other way. There may be additional reasons they suggest not using a bubbler? I can't recall... I've also read that those instructions were a mistake due to translation error.

You can use air pumps with air stones with H&G nutes, I use them and have seen many other people use them as well with no problems.

I have decided to not use shooting powder or top booster this grow. Is there any other additives I can use in place of sp I am using bud xl. Everything is looking good. Just curious. I'm on day 33 of flower.
