The tale of the possible oaxacan bagseed

i started a seed from a really nice bag of mex that my bud's dad's friend had. but like alot of my projects i start i dont always finish due to the the load on my plate.

stress will play a big factor in flower period. stress will cause it to be delayed. a plant in stress/shock will stay alive but it will not grow, after the shock it starts growing again. hope im not being too confusing

Hi,
no you are not confusing at all, you are helping me a lot.
I have noticed the mother was stressed too. too many nutes, I have cut right down now and she is growing nice leaves again and plenty new branches at the bottom and top.

The babies are on a very light soup now and still want less. will change the res during the week end and will give them very little this time.

I have definitely noticed the plants tell you all you need to know about them.

Again thanks for all your invaluable help.

Hi,
all is good with the plants, they are growing very well.
I have taken some macro shots to see the thrics and it looks like it has worked fairly well and it also looks like I still have a long way to go.
thrics_onleaf.jpgthrics_onleaf2.jpgthrics.jpg
And here is a shot of one of the better looking cola forming.
one of the plants take up almost a quarter of the space. at the back there are 2 big ones and the others are a bit smaller. I think it has something to do with the lighting I had at the beginning of the grow or maybe lack of space.

Hello,
I have been reading your log and its great, I'm new but have looked at tons of pics and other info. From what I have read the more light the better hps-flow stage is best.
You said that you are using cfls, what type?
I just started my set up with 6 100w daylight bulbs cfl. 6500k and 1600L, made a diy type. cheap on energy and doesnt' get hot.
I like your set up and think I will make tomorrw. Have any info what type of nuts I should get. and the amount set up.

Hi logan,
well I started off with the cfls and an homemade reflector but as the plants grew a lot being a sativa I realized cfl was not going to cut it.
I used some 25w and 30w cfl then I bought a 125w growlight which is a big cfl the closet was getting quite hot with all of those light in there and the lumens weren't that great.
I ended up getting a 250w hps for flowering and I am using the big cfl for some side lighting. temps have gone down since I did that and there is much more light in there.
the more light the denser buds basically so I would always recommend getting an hps light for your grow. It works out cheaper in the long run especially if you are planning to use a lot of cfl. they do add up!!
I have been using the lucas formula with general hydroponics nutes. if you search for lucas formula here you'll find it.
I initially over nuted the plants now I am backing off and they are reacting well the plants will kind of tell you when they are happy or if they need more.
hope this helps.
oh and it's all done with a dwc tub that was very easy to build and only costs a few ££

Hay again,
That was fast, I really don't know how this sight work all that well but I'm trying. Iv been up for the last few days just stuck on this sight trying to get more info. I think my head is going to explode.:cuss: How does this sight work, it looks like you are not on right now, but I only left a mess. about 15min ago. I was thinking of getting a 600w hps system with a dit. ballast. it seems like a lot of power but I will only use this in the flowering stage. you in the uk? Its great to beable to ask questions and ppl to get back to you.
I was thinking about getting a ph tester any other types of testers that I will need.
Your plants look great I just got done reading it all. Do you have any new pics?
Here are a few of my dying plants.dissle:fire:

Thanks for your logs:lol:

gosh your plants sure look like they need some tlc there.

Yes to go hydro you will need a ph meter and a ppm/ec meter to figure out how much your plants are using.

It all feels like a lot to start with but soon you should be ok. just do a lot of reading. Here is a good place to start.

600w lamp is apparently the best combination of energy use and lumens. You will need a lot of air moving in the growroom as I am sure the 600 will get really hot.

Here are some more pics

Hey again.
I was going to get the testing tools, Ph and PPM. I have found a TDS tester. Is this the same as the ppm. what is the difference?
Thanks and happy growing:)

I think it is basically the same. you would be better off getting an EC meter instead as it looks like we are all moving to EC instead of ppm because of confusion with the ppm conversion factor.

read about it in here or other forums and you'll figure it out I am sure.

Hi just a little update, I was building a support for some extraction fans to attach to the door of the closet and a piece of mdf fell on the plants, It broke quite a few branches that are drwying right now. It's a real shame as they are not done at all.
the only good thing about it that they were lower branches so maybe they would have never ripened.

I will post some more pics soon.

Guys I am definitely getting frustrated, I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel...

these girls are taking ages to ripen.. I just want to grow some proper weed and be done with the Mexican overgrown monster.

I have been thinking of getting some satori seeds from mandala. the description looks good and the flowering time is nowhere near the 3-4 months my current grow will take.

somebody please give me some energy to finish this grow :)

i grant you the will! be done with it. you can always make hash or butter or something. it is not that big of a deal, especailly with all the knowledge you have aquired. it makes it worth the trouble.

yeah that is up to. all im saying is, if you did start a new grow right now and trashed this one, you wouldnt be at a loss.

babygro grows the satori and mandala i believe

I think what I'll do is get some proper seeds and leave this grow going as far as I can, look for a mum with the proper seeds and then when clones are ready chop this grow and put the new clones in.

well at least the growroom has been evolving and I think I managed to get some proper ventilation in there last night I used 2 90cfm computer fans that run on 220v to extract I will take some pics later to illustrate :)

we'll see what happens
