The US government is officially a laughing stock.

We'll be fine. Better than we have been in the last 6 months, comparatively. And involved or not, if the evidence assures his impeachment, it will definitely lead to his removal, even if it takes a few months longer.
The President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States" who may be impeached and removed only for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors".

He'll be impeached and removed for this:

The charge of high crimes and misdemeanors covers allegations of misconduct peculiar to officials, such as perjury of oath, abuse of authority, bribery, intimidation, misuse of assets, failure to supervise, dereliction of duty, unbecoming conduct, and refusal to obey a lawful order. Offenses by officials also include ordinary crimes, but perhaps with different standards of proof and punishment than for nonofficials, on the grounds that more is expected of officials by their oaths of office.

You need to do your own research. There are just too many coincidence that point at the CIA. Who for the sake of the topic we are on was ran by Bush Sr. at the time from what I've gathered.
What a complete dumbass.

The CIA wasn't even in town, moron. The CIA doesn't operate on American soil that way.

Secondly, George H.W. Bush was CIA director in 76-77 over a decade AFTER JFK was assassinated.

So much for your "fact gathering".

The real story is a whole lot easier and not surprisingly it's a whole lot less exciting. It only takes a few paragraphs to explain.

Joe Kennedy was, at least to some extent, in bed with the mob back during prohibition. That much we know. We also know that Jack Kennedy won in mob controlled states that he really had no chance winning in. Word around the campfire was that Joe called in a few favors from them to help Jack win the election.

The mob thought that if they helped Joe, then Jack would be a "man they could work with" in Washington.

What did Jack do? Hired his brother Bobby as Attorney General.

What was Bobby's first statement and mission? To wipe out organized crime.

So what did the mob do? Take out Bobby? Hell no. They knew full well if they did that then Jack would come after them with everything the United States had at its disposal and they knew Jack would never, ever stop.

So they cut the head of the snake off. They killed Jack. They paid off some of the same low-life assholes that the CIA had used in the Cuba debacle (who were low level thugs for the most part, nothing more) and a few police officers to look the other way, and they blew Jack to kingdom come.

It was the perfect crime. Only one thing went terribly wrong: They knew that LBJ hated Bobby and vice versa. They were simply shocked beyond words when LBJ kept Bobby around to finish his term as Attorney General.

So the mob weathered the storm until then. Once Bobby was out of office, things went back to normal.

Until Bobby started a run for president. The mob new full well that Bobby blamed them (and rightly so) for Jack's death and that if he made it to the White House, he would destroy them.

So they killed Bobby too.

It really is just that easy. It was about money and criminal enterprise. Nothing more. There was no CIA conspiracy, there was no "insider", there was just a couple of mob bosses that paid a lot of people a lot of money to look the other way. Then of course, bodies of low level criminals and mobsters were turning up all over (in typical mob fashion) for years afterwards.

First rule of assassination: Kill the assassins.
