I grow in coco but with autos i start in pot that I’m gonna finish in (no transplanting), I like to top early ( around the 15 day mark) if it’s thriving. I let them grow and just do a little bowl training to keep canopy as even as possible. Imo I believe if you defo or trim at the right time then they bounce back very quick. I do mine same time as I do photos, soon as stretch stops. I do some right before flip with photos also but autos I might take one here and there if they are thriving but just one or two at a time. I like to wait till they stop with stretch to do most everything with my autos. Everyone has different methods to get to same place and lots of different methods work great, you just have to find what works for you and dial it in. Personally coco was the best thing to ever happen to me lol. It’s more work if you don’t have auto watering setup and a reservoir but you control everything the plants get and their root system loves coco with all the oxygen it stores in it. I hope this info might help, best of luck to you.✌

So I would like to try coco at some point why do u say it's difficult with the watering and everything? See I did not top mine the ones I got going now I will top the seedling at 15 days as you said and see the differences in harvest. I really appreciate all the info

Well the main reason I say watering is more difficult is cause in soil you only have to feed/water every 3-5 days or so but you feed daily in coco (2-4 times a day depending on pot size). Last run I was in 3-gallon and had to feed 3 times a day so coco would stay moist, this run I’m in 5-gallon and feeding 2 times a day. Coco holds 30% more oxygen for the roots and you can’t overwater in coco unless you leave the pot sitting in runoff for a long period. I’m gonna eventually get a auto watering system with a reservoir on a timer that way all I have to do is fill reservoir every few days or so. I think you would love coco, if your on the fence about it try just one plant in the coco and see how you like it. I think you will love the results you get.✌

So don't u waste alot of nutrients if u have to water them that many times a day? This may sound like a dumb question but could you use the runoff as a watering or can you not do that I just feel like if you had to keep feeding them that many times a day when it was a day that they need to get fed you would be wasting tons of nutrients or do you use less water during a feeding

Growing in coco is hydroponic growing and the style I do is called drain to waste. You do use a lot more nutes for sure but well worth it imo. I have made sure ph is correct and use the runoff a second time. I also use it on my outdoor plants all the time. They are different types of hydroponic growing, you could build a flood table and it’s called ebb n flo (flood and drain), you reuse the nutrients in flood and drain. People also set there plants in coco up on a drip system which is what I’m gonna eventually do. That’s where you have a reservoir and auto watering system going to your plants on a timer. Some send there runoff back to reservoir to reuse. Really just depends on what style fits you best. I grow in a 5x5 tent and the room that my tent is in ain’t got a lot of room to work so drain to waste works best for me. I’m working on a 12x12 building for my new grow space but probably won’t get to finish it till after the first of the year.✌

Transplant canna seedlings when the leaves are as wide as the container. that idicates the roots have reached the bottom but have not oe barely begun root circling. I transplant 95% of my autos with zero issues and have documented measurable growth in within as little as 12 hours.

And solo cups suck for seedling IMO. I prefer yogurt/cottage cheese containers or actual 1L pots. Roots tend to stick to the plastic of solo cups leading to possible root damage upon transplant. Cutting the bottom off the cup and transplanting cup and all is not a great idea either, the cup restricts root growth, especially laterally.

I have a quick question for yall any advice would help when I take my seedling and it's in the rapid Rooter and I put it into a solo cup how many ounces of water do you feel like I should give it at a time also when you finally take it out of the Solo Cup and I put it into a 3-gallon pot to start off how much water do you feel like I should be giving it any suggestions will help because I feel like that is where I struggle is the watering in the beginning

I’ve transplanted autos also without issues but I’ve also stunted a few by transplanting. That why I would rather start in the pot I’m gonna finish in. I know several people who transplant all their autos though and have had great results. I say if it works for you then keep doing what your doing.✌

I like them because the rootball slips right out easily. slip the stem between your fingers, flip the plant upside down so it rests in your palm. Push the bottom of the pot like it was a plunger, just enough to fel the pot loosen. Lift the POT off the rootball. Bring the seedling close to the planting hole and flip it right into the hole. I have a 99% success rate with the technique. even if the rootball breaks up a bit when placing it in the hole, it rarely affects the plant.

I’m gonna have to try the yogurt and cottage cheese containers.✌

Dude my plants are shit compared to yours. I believe the verculimite I put in the dirt is holding water deeper in the pot and I'm overwatering because I will stick my whole finder in the dirt and it will be dry but then I'll water and then they don't seem happy I'll post pictures and see if you all have any suggestions

Mine weren't a lot bigger when they flowered. these girls STRETCH in flower! 2.5 to 3 times their size at flower. Your plants will do fine, they are looking good now.

And the leaves of plants often droop after watering its ok, the next day they'll look perky!

These are like a waste of electricity I feel like

They are blue dream autos FEMINIZED. They are showing pistols as of two to 3 days ago. They are on day 31. What's an auto pot? I just ordered a 3 gallon smart pot
They will surprise you once they start stretching. I like to use fabric pots cause I get better root production with them than I do with plastic. The roots in plastic pots wrap around the pot a lot, especially at bottom of pot. The fabric pots allow the roots to poke through and air proon, then the roots branch off in different directions to build better roots. I believe the auto pot is kinda like a auto watering system. They have a reservoir running to one or multiple pots and allow your plants to go through a good wet and dry cycle. I’ve never tried auto pots but I wouldn’t mind giving it a try sometime.✌

Auto pots are a bottom fed self watering pot. they use an ingenious valve that lets a measured amount of water into the base. It closes then and doesn't open again till the base is just about dry. They are getting very popular with growers!
lots of good info ontheir website
