yeah mine blows up. Insides look the same. Fins at the back point down into the drip tray. Fan on the front blows toward the dehumidifier which forces air up. I’ll reverse the fan to blow away towards the door

My fan faces the door but doesn’t blow air towards it

It would be great to know which way everyone’s else’s fan is blowing. Can you feel it blowing towards the door of the fridge or up towards the fridge fan at the top

Dehum pushes up the temp a bit too much for my liking as well, about 55f to 70f. I think this is why it’s so dry already

Your good, Chill out. If you read the thread swings are normal, and the fresher you put bud in the bigger the swings, it’s just pulling water out. You can slow it down and keep the swings smaller by raising the set rh. Lowering the rh to under 70 first is not a bad idea just to lower risk of mold, although with the temps in control the risk is very low.

When the rh swings up and down you’re fine, just keep lowering the rh by .5 to 1% a day. If the swings stop odds are the dehumidifier fins froze, just unplug it from the Inkbird for 15 minutes then continue. Once it gets settled in and running for a couple days it usually won’t freeze though. The fact that you’re pulling a lot of water out tells me it’s working as it should. As you get closer to 60% you’ll see less and less water pulled out per day, that’s normal as well.

i put my ribs down and fan is blowing down in to them.
and yea just put the dehum on a timer every 2h for 15min ice block just slides down.
allsoo i put 2 mini pc fans at the top corner to blow in both directions at all time to circulate the air

last few days is the real problem at least for me.the dehum will bring the grass to the desired 60% but the fridge is allsoo a dehum and if you set his temp too low he will try to bring the temp down but at the same time it will bring the humidity down with him.best solution is to put some water on the floor or a wet spounge

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like your fan blows towards the fins which is how mine originally was.

instead of using a sponge has anyone tried a couple of boveda packs in the fridge? It would keep it more stable than a sponge I would think

Well I think I would pass on it due to the fact it’s more expensive. Also it does nothing to cool, so you’d still have to get something to lower temp in the box.
 
I got the koolatron anyway, but saw that, and thought..I dunno, I'll be gettin that peltier kit off Amazon, but the trend I've read in the thread is that people cut the lower left corner back of the inside to mount it, but wouldn't cooling be better from the top?

you know what..I'm an asshole and am backreading right now...your inital setup is the broken down to fan/heatsink shmidt dehu, and no peltier cooler..but seems people incorping them in later iterations...or I could be mistaken and the quotes of peltiers are referring to the native koolatrons cooler..goddammit, can anyone Recommend an index page #? there should be lists of the latest iterations if there haven't been said guy contributing nothing to this proj but am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL it exists..love ya guys...thank you cannatrol for the idea

For my first time, on a tight schedule I picked up some plastic burlap mesh from michaels because it was local, and twist tied it to the wine racks .. it did the job - but very awkwardly and it wasn't pretty at all, even in pink.

Would love to do perforated stainless sheet steel, but proper shelves would be twice what the cooler cost, before even getting into whether it allows enough ventilation.

After some experimentation I found some cheap stainless mesh that is thin enough for good airflow
and some molding to frame it

In my mind, I was thinking I could use those slide on plastic report binders, which would have been even cheaper, but I couldn't find any longer than 10" and I didn't want to deal with trying to splice them. Took me awhile and a lot of searching but ended up on the molding above. Not dirt cheap, but still able to keep the shelf under $20ea. Something could probably be 3d printed but I don't have a printer
Also required a miter box for the corners and a good diagonal cutter to size the mesh
End result has plenty of airflow and is more flexy than desired, but sturdy enough that it's not going to collapse

just got home. Holy fuck. This thing is the truth. The buds are almost perfectly dried. I already smoked a test joint and it’s burning great, taste still a bit green but a week or two of curing in Jars should do the trick. No mold. Smells dank af.

the fridge is an peltier just its hot side is outside.usually how many watts it is devided by 60 is how much little peltiers are inside.
if i rememeber only one guy cut it to relese the water outiside the box but in reality its not necesarry a full fridge will make maybe 4 big puddles after that it just releases drops of water
 
So, Koolatron comes with a perfectly fit foam piece over the window...wonder if this can be covered with some tape or material thats anti wicking to provide further insulation

Also..I will not get the peltier kit, I guess like Amnesia said, the onboard Peltier should work, really stoked about this..over posting here

yea but if you want to control it then you cant control the temperature... i would imagine after a couple of hours when temps hit 11C it will activate a shutdown.but if you put a second peltier inside it it will heat up the room making the fridge peltier work more....

you will never smoke anything soo strong in taste as buds freshly out of the fridge.especially if you have a vape.
