Think this is ready?

Ok I know I'm a beginner but from what I've read most people say when the trichomes are cloudy then the plant is ready to harvest. I think this is ready but my buddy says no but he would let plants go outside until the snow starts and I know if you let them go to long the start to lose potency. Opinions needed please

Ok.. can you tell me why that way I understand more? Cause to me it looked ready but that's why I ask questions so I know. I like to learn. To bad I didn't have that same attitude in school lol
I can't totally tell from that picture with your phone, but I am not seeing any amber. You need to see at least a few spots of amber or more to know for sure it is more or less ready. They say you need to see 10% amber trichomes. From that picture I don't see amber, but like I said you need more magnification to tell for sure.

No your right there is no amber.. ok I forgot about about that part.. I thought when I read about amber it was the hairs so I was just backwards is all that's kinda normal with me lol.. thanks man I appreciate it

Live and learn right?
Yeah... Bad thing is that the dude has been growing for like 40 years and they were Bruce banner but he is dying from cancer so he didn't care enough to check them . I mean I get it with the whole cancer thing but I'm already new at all this so having to battle that shit on top of the rest is a bitch... I tried to clone mine like 10 times and failed every damn time so now I have no seeds no clones and only about 1 and a half plants lol . That was gonna be hopefully some money for seeds but I need to get some exhaust system really.. I have fans but that doesn't help much

That's all on you for putting dirty clones in your grow. Quarantine them and look them over and treat them before they go to your regular grow area next time. As far as the weed goes, honestly, you can harvest whenever. It looked like all the pistols were colored. Anytime between now and a few weeks from now will be just fine.

I got clones from him last year and they were fine that was my first time growing but it was outside too I'm still learning and learning on my own has some advantages like you can kinda do things your own way instead of someone else's way but not having someone show me kinda gets rough but I like to learn hands on so that's why I'm kinda glad the chaos(I think I spelled that right) happened early so I learn some of it now.. I made my own potting mix too but I need more perilte.. baby steps I guess. I get ahead of myself a lot lol.. I appreciate the help

I'd guess 2-4 more weeks, but would need to see pictures of the entire plant for a more accurate guesstimate. Welcome to RIU and sorry about the thrips.

Ok first off pistils will shrivel/recede when its ripe thricomes are just one guide you want big fat buds that look ready too also ignore trichomes on the leaves they ripen before the bud quite often you got like 4 weeks or so left

You want to look at the the trichome heads on the calyxes (actual buds) as the sugar leaves will mature faster, it should be hard to find clear. If they are mostly all cloudy/milky and hard to find any clear you have entered the harvest window. Its about a 2 week window for the highest thc content then they begin to mature and turn amber converting to CBN. It is your preference on what ratio of cloudy to amber you would like to harvest. If your strain is sativa leaning or your looking for a more uplifting get shit done kinda high then you go with very little amber mostly cloudy/milky. If your growing indica dominant or looking to couch lock then you want a higher ratio of amber (let it go longer). Some will let it get 60% amber prior to harvest, others only 5% its all about what your growing and what your preference is.
