I say keep it in ur closet of your apt. until you own or someone else owns the place...

why play the fall guy role if you aren't getting the space for free or w/e

I don't know much, but I'd say it sounds like a bad idea. If you don't have space at your current rental, why not just get a bigger one and move altogether?

Plus your renting a whole house and you're only going to drop 4k on the grow?? You'd have a whole house.... might as well go big.

The problem with owning a home and having a big op is that if youre busted they can seize your place.

thats a good point, lol, like the other guy said, why not use that money and find a bigger house that has a few good rooms you can devote to growing.(or 1 big or however you want to really) and move in?

you're that close to owning a house free and clear with no mortgage?

feds can't sieze shit if the house has a mortgage on it, and yet you still knida own it, but not really.

anyway, why don't you just look for the prefect house, move there and start your grow? no sence in renting 2 places....an empty house that you "visit" every other day for a few hours is more likely to bring attention than any crazy shit like utility companies seeing you are at two places...I would want the grow close so i could keep an eye on it without arrousing suspicion by anyone.
but hey man go for it, i would suggest searching CL for a place to rent, find a private citizen renting a house, none of this i want a credit check and your SSN shit.

dude dont do the extra house. you prolly wont get away with it. but also the problem with living in your grow house is your electric bill is HUGE!

I would find another place with an extra bedroom or two and put up a big tent. hell put 2 1k lights in there and you should be rolling. check out the most new thread by DILLWEED he has a top notch ventilation system, doesnt use c02 and has 2 1k lights AND STILL AVERAGES OVER 2 POUNDS EVERY GROW. If you wanted to go even bigger past that point now you have to worry about selling. believe me you DO NOT want to end up with 3 pounds of dank shit in your house along with a grow op cause you cant get rid of it.

heres the link to dill

bottom line, I honestly dont think you need a whole other house and the hassle that comes with it to get the results you want.

Its sounds like a great idea unless you get caught then it sounds like a bad idea. What a lot of people do is rent the house and rather than growing in the closet and living in the house you could live in the closet and grow in the rest of the house. Makes for a good grow.

I agree with getting a bigger place, living in it AND growing in it together is probably your best bet.

HOWEVER, your other plan sounds good. The easiest way to get around your difficulties with putting a second set of bills in your name is to "move in" with someone else. Get someone else's name on the lease (that cousin you mentioned) and then you can put whatever bills in their name and you'll be clear. They don't have to live there or pay for anything there, just have it all in their name. You can have your name on the lease as well (I'm pretty sure there is no law against renting 2 places at the same time...as long as you can pay for it no one should blink an eye), but this way you don't have 2 sets of utilities floating around with your name on them.

Regarding who you want to rent from...I say the smaller companies are FAR AND AWAY THE BEST IDEA. Big companies tend to send maintenance people unannounced, or frequently want to show your apartment to prospective renters, or whatever. You find a small company whom you never really have to deal with outside of dropping off your rent every month and you're golden. They won't come unless you ask them too.

So, I still say rent a bigger house for yourself to live in and grow in and it will make this whole situation much easier on you. But the other way is totally feasible, just more complicated and probably a little more risky.

Good luck:leaf:

Yeah I hate that.

"What's that sound?"
"What's in there?"

"Why did you leave the light on in your storage room?"

lol

setting up an entire house is not small task. I would like you to literally write down every single COST associated with your grow. pots, nutes, soil, bulbs, ballasts, fans, AC units, POWER BILL!!!!!, Water bill...litererally everything you could possibly spend some money on in regards to this grow...

What about your monthly rent at this new place?
What about your monthly rent at your current location that you plan to live at? and its power bills, water, ect
What about your cell bill, insurance, gas money, car money..."the oh shit why did this have to happen now funds"

In theory you could be making money in 3 months...but lets assume that nothing goes right...and your crop dies can you survive paying both properties for another 3 months before u MIGHT get a harvest?

Whatever your budget is for setting up an entire house...triple it because u will need "wiggle" room later.

Yep, im thinking i need 8k in the bank just to get the ball rolling now that i really think about it. Because like you said, its all spending until i actually get a harvest then get rid of it. Could be 12-14 weeks before i see a dime in return.

Im sure the landlord would want the 1st months rent plus a deposit ($1700). Equipment- fuck,, 4k easy. Then rent and utilities for the next few months before you get a harvest ($3500). Shit, may need 9-10K just to get started.

But think about that 2nd, 3rd harvest. Everything over $3500 is profit. I figured i could pull 5 lbs. every 14 weeks. Thats almost 20k per harvest that goes directly into my pocket.

Either way, definetly not something ill rush into.
