You cant have calcium absorption with a ph below 6 that's why I said let it drift before you change it. OR your plants could be sweating causing water to pool up. then the light comes on and fries them. Open the tent just before the lights come on and check for wet leaves. DO YOU HAVE A FAN?

Are you saying there is in abundance of calcium because the plants aren't using it due to the ph being below 6.0 which is locking out magnesium causing the rust spots?

Hmmm in soil maybe, not hydro.

Yeah I'll have to start letting the ph start at 6.2 and drift backwards then because even leaving it at 6.0 yesterday it dropped to 5.9

I checked before and the only water I've seen on the leaves is when one touches another.

I have a fan in the opposite side of the tent back corner blowing on the canopy but the air probably doesn't make to to the other side of the tent. I will get another fan setup. Question though. Last time I had a oscillating fan blowing from above the canopy facing downwards I noticed the plants in the middle of the oscillation turned crispy so I thought they were drying out.

What is the best position to have the fan on the plants? Plant level?
Moisture on the leaves is exactly what I'm talking about. You want to avoid having the plants touch. Maybe get a fan with a lower speed.
I think your ph should be climbing not dropping. How do your roots look? Growing media can cause acidic drops, Bacterial or fungal root infection causes root decomposition. Bacteria generate organic acids and acidify the solution.

Post a link to this thread in the hydroponics section roll has some gurus that probably know more about it than me. I'm more of a soil guy. I did mess around with hydro for a minute usually when I run out of soil.

I'll take a look at the roots. For a while there my plants were stretching and acting funny and I realized the roots were trying to grow only between the two buckets so I placed growpots inside the upper bucket to hold the roots inside the top bucket

you should give me a whole run down of whats up i am a very well dialed in hydro guru you can say. i used and dwc drip ebb aero all em and know the problems running into

Just checked night time temps and controller read 64 degrees and humidity at 70 :(. Can't have cool Ac without added humidity I guess. I turned up the Ac to 73 degrees from 70 degrees to see if I can meet in the middle. Previously was set to 75

Edit:

So if things don't get better we can rule out temps (Ac) and fan since I'm getting a second fan setup on the other side of the tent soon

I changed the settings on the mini split to dry (dehumidify) and temps are 64 and humidity is 59% I'm gonna try and get the temp up a little and humidity lower (around 50%) over the next day or two. I'm hoping that when I move the temp up it doesn't allow the humidity to go up with it but we'll see.

Anyone know how exactly you hook a dehumidifier to a controller since they both try and set and adjust humidity by turning on and off? Right now I have the dehumidifier plugged into the wall but id like it on the controller of possible

if it works on its own, I'd leave it, however I think I see what you mean. your dehumidifier won't come on in relation to the humidity level. does the controller have an outlet you can plug the the dehumidifier into? 59% is better than 70%. it'll be interesting to see how this works out. humid air is considerably warmer than dry air as the liquid conveys heat energy more easily than dry air. I think 70 degrees F and 40-50% is ideal but I wouldn't struggle with it; just do the best you can and you'll probably be okay. I still don't know for sure if temp is the problem, but that discoloration and your use of the word crispy makes me think that this is largely heat related.

So I come home to a 88 degree tent with 35 percent humidity. This mini split is causing me issues at least on the dry (dehumidify) setting. I have have to change it back to cool setting obviously

i noticed with my ac putting it on 68 it kept kicking on and the condenser sucked the water out because it was always being kicked on,not just on standby with the fan blowing until it hits high temps because then the humidity is way to much.

Update: nothing new. Things are getting worse. Ph still drops and ppms are still rising. The affected leaves are now making there way to almost every fan leaf.

Ph is 6.03
Ppms 615

Check out this extra crispy leafimage.jpg

You said you were checking the roots could you take a picture?
Omg gosh I just checked the roots and my buckets were bone dry under neath which made me start looking and the damn fill plug on my controller bucket came unplugged. I'm trying to remember how many days ago that was. SHITT!!!

I'm guessing it happened 3-4 days ago. Damn. I'm spending way too much time at the gf place. I would have caught this if I stayed home the last day or two since you can here web. The pumps kick on. I'm wondering how much I lost on this

Floranova always stains my roots but I've always had this problem so maybe you're right.

I'm giving them a good soaking and I started thinking about it it could have only been a day maybe two because I record how much water the plants drink a day too.
