This is a tough question....lets see who can handle it

It's about ventilation and my stoned ass is trying its best to comprehend the situation.

Here is the scenario:

I have central A/C. All the windows and doors stay closed all day.

2 grow tents in one room that is a bit over 1000 cubic feet worth of air.

The first tent (5' x 10' x 6.7') has an 8" 720 cfm fan exhausting 2 1000 watt lights (totally sealed) and a can filter 33. All of the air from the tent will be pulled from this fan thru the carbon filter and lights and exhausted into the attic.

Total cubic feet in tent is around 325. Intake will be passive as the cool 77 degree room air will be taken into the tent from the bottom flaps. This is my theory anyway.

Second tent is 4' x 4' x 6.7'. I will be using a 1000 watt light and using a 240 cfm fan to cool it pulling thru the light and into the attic. No filter for this veg room. Total cubic feet in tent is about 100. Intake will also be passive collecting air from the cool room.

Now here is where my brain kinda says something won't work well here.

I ask myself...........If I'm sucking air out of that room and into the tents at a rate of 400 cfm.........Where the hell would the extra air come from to fill the void?

The room would be empty of air in about 2 and a half minutes.

So...................With the door open the rest of the air from the house will take its place.

But what happens when all the air in my central A/C cooled house gets used up?

Do I suffocate? Wake up gagging? Does the house implode and I get sucked into a black hole?

Seriously tho.....I know some air will seep in from the windows and doors......but will it be enough?

The air in the attic has plenty of bolt holes so that's not a problem. My problem is I'm worried about how my air will be replaced and fill my house back up.

The process must be slower than I'm imagining. I suppose plenty of air leaks into the house by some means. But I'm not sure if I will have any problems.

So...who here knows the deal? Should I stop toking for a few days and think about this :blsmoke::hump:

You should stop thinking about this, and start toking all day for a few days straight.

In all seriousness tho, you're probably just overthinking it.

I'm not a physics expert, but I believe its physically impossible to creat a void of air in the way you're worried without crazy tech science gear designed for it

So in other words........the air that is sucked out and blown into the attic will be replaced by air slowly seeping back into my house to maintain some sort of balance.

NO WAYY!! TOO EZ! :mrgreen::blsmoke:

all you have to do is scoop the little guy up and toss him outside.

now he could grow inside your shopvac and use up all the air inside your house and you wont have any to breathe.

Holy crap!! I didn't think of that! I'll have to dig him out!

I'm keeping my eye on you and your suspicious activities! If the gecko is harmed in any way I expect a televised apology to reverend Geico Gecko to make up for your gecko hate crimes.
You talk and the gecko gets it! Send weed now! For me AND the gecko! :blsmoke:

by my count you are exhausting 960 cfm of your AC - that is only if the fans are working at 100% capacity - which they are not if they are pushing air through a carbon filter... you are probably realisticly exhausting 500cfm into the attic from your grow room, but if you are running 3KW in there you NEED to exhaust it. the only problem with this is that the AC cant really work like that - it becomes horribly inefficient and will run all day... if you have a good one, and you dont care about your electric bill let it roll. You wont be able to cool your house too much - there will be a limit that it will reach, where it wont be able to cool any more. personally, i vent the heat from the lights out seperately, and vent the central AC through the grow room and through a carbon filter and back into the house... that way the AC has a chance to recirculate the air and get it down to the temp i like. hope that helps - i'm not sure why there are no line breaks, when i type my messages they are spaced out nicely ;-(
