Has anybody ever thought about this?

Grown pot out on a boat in international waters. What would the laws be on this? Are there any? I would like some info... Has anybody ever done it? Could you imagine a yacht big enough to grow on. Or at least have a decent garden on. Or better yet.... a boat like on deadliest catch, sailing around grownin and smokin dope in international waters. Sound like fun, not?

But maybe, just maybe it's the kush talking....

it gets rough out there dude I don't know about the laws but you would have to deal with some nasty storms and it would be quite expensive to run.

Thanks in large part to U.S. insistence, the definitive decision to adopt an international prohibition on marijuana was taken in 1955. Despite criticisms of an international policy based on dubious information, the official policy as been strict adherence to the Single Convention. In an effort to reinforce official policy, key international drug control organs have issued questionable declarations regarding the undesirable effects of marijuana for decades. Claims that marijuana induces homicidal rages in dark-skinned users have been replaced with more subtle warnings that give the false perception that international drug control efforts aimed at wiping out the marijuana plant are based on science rather than cultural norms.
Thats what I found on international law.

Cmon I'm high and this was a fun idea what's up with all the money talk, free sun! have you ever been out on a boat all day the water is like a gigantic sheet of mylar. Maybe a plexiglass or glass floor so the garden is protected from seaspray and stuff, wouldn't want salt build up. what about like around the bahamas seems calm alot of little islands you could tour around always circling to the calm side. I like it.!!!:joint:

Yeah it'd be fun until you need to go to port for supplies and such and the U.S. coast guard or Interpol shows up asking questions... Not to mention the cost of growing out on sea. The price for the boat alone would be outrageous, then the prices for gas will make your asshole pucker. After that you would have to worry about electricity to run all those lights which means a generator or two which would require more gas. Then you would need a CO2 tank to feed the plants since there isn't a viable supply out at sea (I may be wrong about this but I'm basing this off of the fact that there is very little that produces CO2 above ocean-level in the middle of the ocean. It could turn out that all the algae and plant life down below breaks down and converts the O2 in water into CO2 and it rises to the ocean surface but I'm going with what I put down.)

yeah that's right and whenever you needed to port you would take your little 10 foot boat that's all the gas you would need on a sweet sailboat.

What country of origin would your vessel be "flagged" (registered)? If it was flagged United States or even unflagged the Coast Guard would be all over you. Even if you were able to flag the vessel to some foreign country other that the USA, the Coast Guard would just apply for a "statement of no objection" (SNO) from that country...then be all over you. The Coast Guard has more jurisdiction and power then any other law enforcement agency in the USA. They do not need probable cause, a warrant or anything else to board your vessel. Growing on the "high-seas" is not a good alternative.

how about this get it flagged by cuba and make the boat a marijuana resort getaway including hi priced prostitutes:hump:

nothin like gettin baked on the high seas with a topless honeypot:blsmoke:

Call it, "Royal Cannabian"

you would get very rich if you could do such a thing. I think international waters begin 3 miles out from any coast.

you make the whole ship like a jungle biosphere of marijuana of all strains

its actually a great idea, very possible, if anyone has millions hangin around get some lawyers on it and find out if its possible then purchase a cruise ship and convert it.
