This ovule (not seed) thing needs explained by an experienced grower please

I second that. Lol. Can you pluck a bract off and open it to see how big your ovules are?

if you could. Just to see. This is from live plants. Green ovule is younger bract. Brown ovule is older one. They seem to shrink and darken over time as plant matures. You can see the translucent layer over the dark one. This is described in what I’ve read. I will pull a bracht off and dissect tonight.

But there are no little dark brown things like that in my finished buds.

wondering about planting some of these seeds in my buds this summer outside. The jack 47 pollinated everything. Thinking the offspring of the selfed plant will carry more of the hermie trait of course. I know jack 47x deep cheese sounds real nice. Well, that’s if I notice a sudden disappearance in big ovules. Let’s find out. Quick dried buds ready to break up and smoke.

here is why im so curious... okay ive been growing for a while now and never heard or learned about these things.. my last run was my first in a year so things went little shaky and by week 4-5 i noticed my bract swollen and it had a seed forming im like fuck i have a herm.. so i found the hermie and was like ill just finish this run since its my first in a year i wanted something...

so after seeing the one seed i had some brown hairs in various places and i started to look for more seeds and didn't really find any i just found the little green ovules connected to the white hairs which some of them was turning brown. so not knowing about ovules i brake open more bracts to see them everywhere. now i'm like damn my whole bud is going to be all seeds but that was not the case! i had a few seeds and for the first time ever in my weed noticed some tiny brown specs not as many as i found from a connect of mine! his was like danjac82 big and tons of them where they mess up taste and crackle//.... so during that time i was searching everywhere i was going crazy trying to learn if they was ovules or seeds and will they disappear ? then learned about all plants having them so it eased my concern but still curious to finding out why they happen??

So it is normal and That is when they shrink up! Can you Look at one fresh off the plant? Also thanks for posting this.. that is a fully shrunk ovule I’m guessing! The earlier you pluck it off the bigger it will be and more
Green.. kinda glad you have that I know now they don’t fully disappear

You are probably right here! Fem seeds are a blight! They get worse every year. Back in the day(15yrs) I would find a few problems with fem seeds. A herm or a mutant here and there. Nothing terrible, but enough to make me stop using them. Over the last few years, I have eased my position and have started using fems here and there, only to find herms and mutants and things like your describing, in every pack. With the advent of legalization, you find tons of hack breeders, hack growers trading hack clones. The fem market is an absolute mess and will just continue to get worse. I am once again done with fem seeds. I have always done mostly regs and have no problems ever. Even "good fems" can't take the heat of a strong program. Plus Im no homo anyway! And thats no homogenization! Fems are a blight! Buy regs. Bodhi, Mosca, Mota, Exotic, Madd, TGA, to name a few.

i disagree as ive grown tons of fems and never had this problem.. yea sure a hermie but just like you have had success with regs so have i with fems..

I like hso lots of good stuff from there and dna.. I’ve also grown tons of freebies from all types like dinafem serious seeds 710 genetics g13 labs I’ve grown tons of fems not saying they was all A+ but I have some phenos that are top shelf

Next time I'll grab one with fresh white pistils and see what's inside. I didn't think before I grabbed this one that the pistils had already receded.. sorry.

Well, the test buds went ok. The hermie JAck really smacked them with a good amount of pollen. Looks like there will be a atleast a seed or two in most or allmof the buds. Ovules actually looked smaller than anytime before or on the other grows. Maybe a slight crackle once but that could have just been the bud being uneven dry in oven. Didn’t taste the ovules this time. Go figure, the plants get pollinated and appears the ovule issue may correct itself. But yet again, it was only a couple small buds.
