Thursday Night Chop Down!

Good grief, I think I've gotten in a little over my head.......definitely gonna need more than just one 400w for a 4x4, looks like I need to get another one until I get the money for some LEDs. Gotta get an inline fan too √

But if I buy another 400w.....why not just use a 1k with an 8" fan?? probably only an extra $100 and would be a great backup once I get LEDs.

yea, 800W or more is best in a 4 x 4. stay away from those cheap duct booster fans. they don't have enough pressure behind them. get one of those squirrel cage type fans. I happened to have an old hepa filter that i hadn't used in ten years, couldn't even buy filters for it if i wanted to. it had two 4" squirrel fans and I just used expansion foam to attach two metal duct inlets. hung it with some chain and i was all done!!! It has three speeds and an ionizer!

just a small update for you guys.... everything is growing just great, and my QQ and C4CB got their first feeding of bloom nutes. They have been flowering for two weeks now. The QQ is the queen of my jungle!!! here she is up front in the middle, and one of her bud. Am I the only one in America to be flowering this breed right now?

Thanks NF!!! there is one AK in there yet(left side, middle) that still has some burnt leaves from when she was at 3 weeks. that one plant is the only one I have left with any damage on her. the rest have a clean bill of health!!!

did your new addition sprout yet?

I noticed her but there's so much green around her and that's awesome. R they all in it air crates? Sadly neither addition has even popped a root I'm thinkn of trying two more.

yeaaa man that QQ is lookin great!! very frosty already! u can see all teh frost all over the fan leaves and everythin! mine turned out 2 be a male.... =( kinda upset about that.... i kno Dons growin a couple. obviously. since he created it. lol. but i dont think there are many other ppl growin it. maybe a small handful. u r the only one who has any of my floja crosses going tho! =D

not all are in the aircrates i think there are four of them in regular containers. If I used all crates i could only fit 9 in there.

I was so proud of this one. only had the two seeds. only one popped and she was a girl!!!! I hope I have a good success rate with your floja's!! the sensi star x floja's are starting to stretch thier legs!!! it's getting tough to hold em back!!!

I really am liking the newer UFO, but sadly I'm not impressed with the more purple earlier models. Soon they will be exchanged for the newer V3 models. I didn't want to say anything before it was official, but the owner of GLH has offered to exchange them out for me. So chalk it up to customer support or customer service, what ever you want to call it, it's gonna be customer satisfaction. and that is the number one reason i chose GLH and I will continue to stand behind them. He told me they would ship out Thursday at the latest, but i didn't get a tracking number at all so I'm not sure if they shipped and I didn't want to bug him. my buds are still growing, I'm not in a dark out scenario so I can be patient.

but I have noticed a significant bud size change since the V2 UFO has been in there. not big enough but significant. I have extreme high hopes for the new lights.

BTW... I have to give credit where credit is due... I wouldn't have had this opportunity to exchange these lights, if it weren't for Irishboy.

i think you will like these new ones? so far even though i am 8 days in flowering my plants are loving them even in my 100F temps. very healthy and not one bad mark. reminds me of my 2010's i had and that's a great thing. i think these new ones are gonna be the ones. the 180's you have at the end were just too strong and shuts down the plants it seems? who though we would see the day leds were too strong?lol. ive seen some do great with them but others not the best and thats why we have the V3's and said to be the same specs as my 2010's i used for a long time on all my other grows. so lets hope for the best and we will find out soon with our grows?

I sure hope they work good for me, after seeing the V2 in action for a while, i feel really good about the V3's!!! Mike told me that one single V2 spectra 180 could fill a 4 x 4 space. the only problem is, it is so intense it needs to be 6-7 foot above the canopy!!!! that would be great to fill a high ceiling warehouse with them!!!!!

has Mike ever sent you a panel and not sent a tracking number?

he said he was waiting on power supplies and he would send mine out by Thursday. but i didn't hear anything more this week. he did email me return labels but told me NOT to ship anything back until I got the new ones. I hate to be anxious but I'm really excited to get them in there!!!!

that 2nd pic is awesome bro and of course it all looks great!! thanks for the rep. you still have the lsd seeds, when you gonna start it? we could have a grow off with one plant each and see who gets the most, cfl vs. led, LoL. great job buddy!!

i dont think they will ship out this week? from what i heard their was a mix up and ur panels did not come in. i talked to him the other day when i was sending my old lights back and asked about urs and he said it will be this upcoming week, i think china did not send urs out or something?

i always get a tracking #.. their are a few grows with the new lights and they all look promising even when close. a few had burnt plants and the new lights greened them up. once they got burnt he used his HPS and nothing got better until he threw the V3 in and that was one day and their already greening up. this happen to two people.

another dude is using them on seeds and they look amazing

Thanks dude!!!! I appreciate it!!! but no, sorry bro, I don't have any LSD seeds. I had them in my shopping cart when i bought the tangerine dream but i bailed at the last second and didn't buy them. I just hear great things about it and am excited to see you grow it!!!!

That is great news about the seedlings. I am anticipating a special package of some AK47 x G13 Skunk seeds coming my way in a few days!!!

I sure do understand about a Chinese mix up.... I stayed in Wuxi china ( just outside of shanghai) for a couple years and spent another 10+ doing business with chinese vendors/customers. so if it's anyone that understands the pains of asian trade, it's me!

I haven't had that work in a couple years now, in fact the last place I traveled to was ireland, almost two years ago to the day! I used to love going to china, making a ton of money and bringing it back here to the states and spending it!!!! it made me feel like a proud american!

Some wicked technology, I am kinda freaked out that the intensity on those (2011 v2 is that right?) being too much! Is that even possible? That seems to infer that the spectral intensity is surpassing the sun on those panels?! Or a part of the spectrum is wonky, perhaps it is only part of the spectrum that is erroneous and causing the problem? Sounds like the tech is dialing in either way. I think I want to make a switch too, I was thinking of upgrading my lights this spring, maybe it's time to move toward the future.
I mean I been seeing Irish Boy killing it all over the web for some time now and it's hot like hell where I am also. I do have to wonder why your ambient temps in your house are so high Irish? Or rather what is the ambient temp that your working with to make it so hot in there? The panels raise your ambient by how much?! So it seems that there are tons of crappy panels out there, your GLH seem to be spunky! The other one that I have been looking at is Hydro Gro Led Penetrator panels. Which I technically have been watching for a while now along with the Apache Tech panel. The core seems to be the 120-180 size to replace instead of augment. By my comparison they all have arrived a 3 watt diode and only power them roughly 1/2 - 2/3 of the way, between them they us a 12 - 7 - 9 band spectrum respectively, and all three have independent verified success as directly comparable to the hid standard. Really as long as they are comparable and cooler the next logical influence being price. GLH is the cheapest one, I have priced out the actual components to make these panels assuming that I do the labor for free I could build one of these panels for about $150 - $250 in parts with variability based on composition choices like cree mounts and such. So who is being cool about all this is how I look at it. If your charging more than double your making excess profit imho, many are basing their cost on how much you would save in light bulbs (I know it sounds silly but thats the closest I can get to their figures is by using that as the multiplier in the products expected lifecycle.
That being said the HGL ($899) panel is almost double the GLH ($499) panel for price on their new X line which is very similar to the spectra panel as far as I can tell and both of these are doing what Apache Tech ($999) has been doing.
At first with out research I thought you guys were using the hydro gro leds, you know the penetrators. So many people are using the blackstars around but they are so cheap! It was too much to want to delve into but temps are shite! So long drawn out diarrhea story short, seems like your light supplier takes care of you and doesn't leave you hanging which is valuable as anything else when your talking about dropping g's. lol Thanks for doing so much advanced research ahead of the curve. It seems that giving Irish some panels to play with was a good investment on behalf of that guy at GLH!
