It's not russet I don't think. It looks like it hit a pocket of fert. Is it just one limb? if so then I would say it's a pocket.Plant Problems...
I was in the garden checking out the plants and noticed some odd growth on one of the branches on my Mad Purps. Look at the pictures below and tell me what's going on? @nuggs is this shit Russets?
I think I had the same issue last year with the same plant, just 1 branch last year as well.
If anybody has any idea what's going on I'd sure appreciate some advice.
I uploaded large picture files so you can get an up close look.View attachment 3445556

I've been hitting them with DE every 10 days or so, 3 applications this month. Just did them on Thursday. I'll keep close watch and hope it's the ferts.after looking again at the leaves, the second pic looks like something is eating it. have you sprayed for the common pests? like leaf rollers? see if any of the leaves have webs with worms roller in them. and check the back side of some leaves for signs of bugs.

I'm also using a leaf blower.
Be careful those ants may be harvesting aphids on your plants. The aphids will look like black raised bumps. I'm sure it's not, but happened to me my 1st season out here.Im going to have to do this... never used de but im starting to get ants on my plants...
good advise right there.Be careful those ants may be harvesting aphids on your plants. The aphids will look like black raised bumps. I'm sure it's not, but happened to me my 1st season out here.
