To medicate or to get stoned.........come on fess up

To high or not to high that is the question

yea but we cant poll them..............that are takeing meds............was curious bout ppl here on RIU.............cant speak for ppl I dont know are wont talk to.............yea we all know pot is helpful.........not my point..........how many here do it for meds only or high only.....lots of ppl here arent in states taht have MMJ but they still just use pot for meds.........and then theres me LOL........but you see what I mean..........dont care about the pro or con of pot......just ppl here on toke and talk
 
I use it to quell anxiety attacks. Without it, I would have to take an anti-psychotic to treat anxiety. I refuse to go back on pills. I enjoy the high that comes along with it. ;)
 
I've had panic attacks ever since I was around 12 years old. I have cruella deville as a mother, no joke. If I smoke during a high anxiety point in my day it immediatley calms me down, and changed me as a person. When I started smoking, I just came out of my shell. My high school superlative was "Most Changed" :-P So yeah, I use it for medical reasons. But im not going to lie and say I don't fucking looovvve getting high :D and smoking in general is one of my favorite activities.. I think people should be able to use cannabis for migraines, PMS, athletic injuries..anything. Marijuana is medicinally effective and doesn't have any long lasting physically addicting symptoms like pain pills..

I voted on behalf of medicine cause it needed some help, but after i'm good and medicated.. I still enjoying continuing to smoke :eyesmoke:
 
Ive have absolutely no problem with MMJ....its wonderful that it helps ppl..............but how many jumped on the band wagon just to get high without getting busted is a curious thing to me..........it reminds me of being POLICTICALLY CORRECT.......fuck that......a waitress is a waitress......chaiman is a chairman not a chairperson............a bitch is still a bitch though.............and being honest about being high......welp we have a pretty good selection of ppl here and they are honest about it.............now......Im going to medicate while I read........ROFLMAO
 
I have glaucoma, a high-eye-pressure disease that leads to blindness if untreated, one of the ailments that medical marijuana helps most with (unfortunately, MOST glaucoma patients dont develop glaucoma until they are very old and dont really know about or want marijuana by then, but I'm 24, had glaucoma since 13). Im in NC, no legal medical marijuana, but my eye doctor even recommended it. I'm also a graphic designer so my eyesight is VERY important to me.

With that being said.....I smoke to get stoned.

Just so happens that it saves my eyesight at the same time. Subconsciously, I think I smoke more because I have glaucoma. But glaucoma isnt something you can feel or see symptoms of, so I'm not like "Oh I need my medicine, my eyes are hurting" or nothing, I just know that it helps.

When I was 15, my mom caught me smoking several times by then, we went to the eye doctor, and she told him "Tell my son that smoking pot WONT help with his glaucoma", to which he replies "Well, it will...." and goes on to say that he'd legalize it and that I just shouldnt drive on it. When we left, my mom starts talking about finding me some pot..... Never did, bc she looked it up somewhere and said that you have to smoke it every 4-6 hours to be effective and she said thats too much. Little did she know, I already did smoke every 2-4 hours...

I dont really know what the "proper dosage" is, but smoking sure beats taking eye drops that burn and make you impotent, among other things, and my pressure has stayed OK, so I keep killing two birds with one 'STONE' (pun intended)

I voted for Barney lol. I should have voted medicine.

I bet your mom is not as bad as mine! they should make a reality show about most awful mother, our mom's could battle. That would be funny as hell.

Have you ever tried xanax? These help me with panic & they last a while. I don't like taking pills a lot, that's why marijuana is a good option. Especially if I am at home and feel paniced, it's not like I am operating machinery.
 
Xanax is NOT the answer. I have to deal with relatives on Xanax....they think "Oh I'm in a bad mood, I need some Xanax", and theyre happy when theyre on it, but when they 'come down' from it or wake up the next day........illest people in the world

Hahaha they'd battle it out for sure :-P My brother also has the same issue (love ya, mom) and he takes xanax because as a teenager he had some dark days took too much LSD and now marijuana makes his anxiety worse. He swears on xanax and wants me to take it, its just really against what im all about. I know that xanax has addictive tendencies and I dont enjoy being doped up like pills have always made me feel. I've tried all the other ones but xanax, only because i'm freshly 20 and as a minor they didn't want me on it. I still think about it sometimes, because my state isn't legal yet I should have xanax for the bad days...who knows....thanks for your tip though, I appreciate the advice and seeing its helped others.

I 100% belive pot is much better than xanax if it works for you..........anytime you can smoke pot and avoid drugs its a good thing...........................
 
i smoke to get stoned. the numbing effect on the aches and pains are just an extra benny. i'll be the first in line to get my medical card if texas ever swings that way.
 
And you're brother should be ashamed for trying to get you on Xanax!

Took too much LSD? No such thing, unless you've ALREADY got mental problems, it can make them worse....so he already had a chemical imbalance apparently.....so Xanax might work for him, but for 90% of the people prescribed them, they are just a rec drug and something people say they "need" like they say they "need" a drink at happy hour...

EDIT: but you can bet your booty I wont be talking about being medicated or going to pick up my meds............I getting pot to get high........just have to play a game to get it I supposwe.

clonazepam helps a lot too! I might take one now. It's good to have something, especially if ou don't live in a place where you have access to MMJ. It's nice here because you can choose weed based on what yu need medically. If you want something to help anxiety, you can choose the strain based on that. the people in the store will help you choose but I doubt they know much of anything, better to do your own research. I think clonazepam may be bettter than xanax. I take a very small dose and I don't take it every day. My script says to take 2 pills a day but I take 1 or 2 pills a week.
 
Dammit you're not listening... clonazepam is about the same thing as Xanax!

They're fuckin pills and will
A) Kill You
B) Make you the most irritable person in the world when youre NOT on them
C) Make you a lazy pillhead - they say marijuana leads to lack of motivation? Look at a pillhead and compare to a stoner!

those are all valiulm..........just a differnt dosage and style.......I know I take em but a very small dose for a back up for a pill I take...........there are just .3mgs of clozopam...........I bitched at the doctor about it....but so far its not a problem and makes my other med work better....Im not a doctor so I cant explain that.......LOL.
 
yes but I don't smoke a lot or take a lot of pills. I doubt the pills will kill me. I take a half a milligram once or twice a week.
