To Top, Or Not Too Top. That Is The ?

Well I will get some more P-Rain out to you early next week. I also have two new crosses. First is the Purple Head Knocker x Speed Queen (from Mandala Seeds). The second is the Goddess x Speed Queen. Just a refresher, the PHK is Arcata cut of Trainwreck x Durban Poison. The Goddess we took that x AK-47. Should be some good phenos in here. I also finally popped the 7 Goddess beans I had left, hoping for a male, so we can work Goddess into seed form.
 
Grew some Speed Queens outdoors this summer. The clones leaned towards hermie. But the fem plants from seed performed well. A bit slow in early veg but makes up for it with a fast finish. The smoke is tasty. And the yield fell in the middle for me. No worries about PR beans, I will have more than enough. Gonna search my own run. Try and zero in on a few traits within the short female/purp male. Straight Isis would be cool though. Liked the females but didnt get a male that impressed. I still have 2 beans from this summer. If I find anymore seeds in the Magus Motivation or Paradise Wappa I will save em for ya.

And I'm still ambivalent about the Raiders but they have shown some promise. The NFL has done a great job of creating parody. And here at RIU I have found new friends that share in the same parody. Lifes good.........

Guess we can call this round two. And I will admit I proved dick the first time around. And wont prove much this time around. But then again I'm still a believer that there is no '1' right answer. We can adapt our plants to our growroom and enviroment. Just like we adapt to the plants that are growing within our enviroment. Go figure. Fun huh? We just cannot forget to pay attention.:weed: (to your plants that is)


Down, dirty and low. A bunch of posts started to pop up the last few weeks about hormone transfer. Not 'Top or Not' but in the ballpark. Whats best?

Glad you stumble by brother. Had some fun grows so far and have taken many paths.
Right now have the LSD that got lsted. And a Bluecheese, 2 Master Kush, a Sour Cream and Sharksbreath all being grown untouched. And just yesterday put 5 Doggies Nuts G-13 beans in the dome to pop! Hell ya Cowboy, should be a awesome grow for ya. Sounds like some nice strains. I always wondered why the Doggies Nuts were so damn expensive? Hope they live up to the hype. I am with ya on the LST try. Thats how I grew under CFL's so gonna give her a try under the CMH with these bag-seed. I got these bitches strapped down so should get some good cola growth.

Nice and squaty is how I like em. The one on the top will only get super cropped to compare bud growth. These ones are adapting nicely to their environment as you put it.

Looking good Big. Short and tight, get tuned in and you can get some sweet yields from small plants. Your on the right track.
 
One of the things that I always wondered about when it came to high dollar beans. Are they fresh, do they rotate stock?:?: Or do they sit around and wait for a sucker such as myself to drop the dough to buy them?:dunce: Just a couple of the questions that have rattled around in my mind. Early off they have proved possibly worthy. From fridge to peat pellet to this in under 48hrs. 3 out of 5 anyways and 1 of the 2 remaining pellets is showing a bulge.:clap:

Thanks Big, the other 2 were up in the next 12 hrs. All look healthy and are now in 1 qt pots.
So speaking of pots here is my new medium mix. I am now using Fafard C-1P. Its 80% peat and 20% perlite, nothing else. And VERY sterile. No bugs or fungus. Dry and liquid gallons are confusing. So all of my gallon measurements are made with a 1 gallon tupperware pitcher. Makes it simple for me, scoop, gentle tap to settle and thats a gallon too me. To every gallon of base mix I add the following:

1/2 gal worm castings
1 Tablespoon each:
greendand
rock phosphate
azomite
kelp meal
blood meal
bone meal
high P guano
high N guano
rare earth
1/2 Tablespoon epsom salts
2 Tablespoons dolomite
2 qts perlite

For seedlings I mix it 50-50 with just some straight C-1P. Some strains I know that can handle a bit hotter medium can be put into uncut mix from seed. All of the following were put into uncut mix. The first watering is a casting tea to kick things off and just rain water since.
Heres the gang....


First up the Master Kush 2 weeks into 12/12 and about 6 weeks overall.

Bluecheese about 21 days into 12/12 and 7 1/2 overall.

On the right the Sour Cream and on the left the Sharksbreath about 10 days into 12/12 and 5 1/12 weeks overall.

The LSD didnt need water so I just snapped a quick pic from outside the flower room. Better pic when I water it. Just over 2 weeks into 12/12 and 8 1/2 weeks overall.

As you can see they all seem to like the mix. Only the Bluecheese seems to be on the verge of being overfed. I think it just may finish with just water alone. Oh ya, I do occassionaly add some blackstrap.

Poppage works for me. And thanks for the vibe, 5 for 5 and all looking good. We will give them 10 days or so and check back in with them.

Thanks man, right now Im just growing some easyryders and sweet deep grapefruit, its going really well, alot of learning. But next week Im getting some sweet clones, Afghan Hash Plant, Blackberry Kush, and Jedi. Im really excited about the Jedi, from what Ive been hearing.

Thanks Big. I have been working hard to keep an optimal enviroment. Even using a crockpot in the grow room with just water to combat the dry winter heat. Cheap and doing a great job!

I will update the G-13s Friday. They are looking super already, def a strong starter.
