Too early to flower? Please advise

Hello chaps,

I'm 3 weeks since germinating 2 BF Blue Cheese. Ive taken great care of the little buggers and they are looking fantastic.

Problem is that i have a holiday booked in the middle of June and I think I need to finish before I go away... I got time for a nice 9-10 weeks flower and then 1-2 weeks drying but ONLY if i switch to 12/12 before I go away next Wednesday...

so that would be switching to 12/12 in 5 days from now... do you think the little gals could handle it??

the only other option is to veg for another 3 -4 weeks then harvest after my holiday... but then i have to trust someone to water...

im not bothered about yield - more concerned about quality.

any help greatly appreciated

switching won't be a problem. You can put em on 12/12 as soon as they germinate.
Plants look nice. Good luck.

Yes, you could flower them out now the only problem is your yield will be much lower than if you vegged for say another month or so.

Good luck!

I've got a variety of a blue cheese. Not sure of breeder. But it takes 11-12 weeks of 12/12.

I could top today and flower in 5 days..? But do you really think i should top it... it may cause extra stress and they are so young!

BTW thanks for the replies everyone.

Jondamon - 11-12 weeks would really screw up my plans... could you have chopped at 10?

10 weeks was Wednesday just gone.

It has milky Trich's. so its definitely within the harvest window.

The trouble is that breeders give EARLIEST possible harvest time based on perfect variables.

I like a few amber trich's though.

What's the end product your looking for. You could flower those no problem. But I personally would wait. Wait till you see the plant naturally pop a few pistils. I usually wait for em to show sex then flower em. What six container those in? Anything smaller than a three gal and I'd upsize the bucket and transplant. Then let veg a little more.

Personally I wouldn't top them. If you do, you may set the plant back by the stress. JMHO.. also grown the BF blue cheese and the pheno We got went 60 - 65 days.

You may also supper crop or LST before you flower. supper cropping may set them back if the stalk break or splits. Good luck!

You could flower them now and use something like GHE RIPEN for 10 days nearing the end.

Its a forcing solution to speed up ripening.

I don't like it too much but I've always got some on hand just incase.

waiting would be best infact im guna be sad to shorten their lives as they would be big beautiful gals if i had a bit more time... but what can you do... i suppose just get cracking with the freebies attitude gave me... amnesia mystery by positronics and black russian by delicious has anyone tried these?

the buckets are about 7 litres - 1.75 gallons ish - if i stop veg next week then prob they will do?

Just throwing this out but every 12/12 grow I've done they didn't start flowering till the middle of the 3rd or 4th week, like when they would normally be mature enough to show signs, they then finished at near the same time as otherwise. Going 12/12 is better with clones that are already mature

I personally would veg for longer, but I have a little one right now, and I FIMed her..and now she has around 10 branches, cuz I took 4 for clones..and I put her to flower at day 38, she's only been in flower for 5 days..

IME it does impact on flavour.

However I got a 10week cheese strain through in 8 weeks using it. So something had to suffer.

Smoke was still good though.

what would you do? give 2-3 weeks more veg then rely on IME or flower early and prob not use IME?

LOL

IME = in my experience.

GHE RIPEN is the stuff I'm talking about.

I would flower now!

Pick up some GHE RIPEN.

If you don't see any milky trich's at week 8 of 12/12 start using the ripen.

You cut out all other nutes and just use the ripen. Nothing else.

Its a sulphur based 0-6-5 solution

Directions are printed on the bottles.
