Topping and defoiliation

Dunno, my Bakertreet is outside, in the ground, lots of sun with some leaves bigger than my hands, and I wear large gloves. And they only have 5. I mean, yeah it's a pure indica landrace, and they usually have fewer leaflets, but she's been vegging for more than a month since I topped her. You'd think she's recovered.
I would say just keep an eye on it, it should grow more than 5 finger leafs how long since you topped it

More than a month. It's grown 3 feet since then, and is bushy as hell. I'm sure she's recovered. She's stretching now, grown 20 cm in about 5 days, and is starting to put out pistils at her bud sites.
Previously, I grew a sativa indoors that had 9, and then 11 leaflets, then I topped her, and she went down to 7, stayed there for a month, then I flowered her. Never saw more than 7 from her.

Makes sense maybe branches can only push out so many fingers compared to the main fan leafs
