Transplanting Autos versus starring off in primary medium

I heard you should start your auto seedlings in the pot that you're going to end up in however I noticed that the rules come out the bottom has anybody start them off and seedling starters and then transplant them I'm using regular soil

I start them in a solo cup, then at ~2weeks I move her into her net pot. I'm hydro so I can't speak for soil

You should try to avoid transplant shock on autos as much as possible since you have no control over veg time. That being said its definately possible to transplant from whatever medium, whenever you want just may lose a day or two of growth.

Starter pots with coco/perlite to final 3 gallon cloth pots with coco/perlite. This round was probably transplanted early, but I had to go with what my schedule allowed. I've never noticed stunted growth.

Because I started off in the 5 and 7 gallon and the roots are sticking out the bottom

There is no reason you cannot up pot an auto. Make sure the pot you are going into is the same medium charged with the same nutes you are using, be gentle, the plant should not even notice. The issue people have is they don't do those things. They are too rough or they put the plant into soil/coco that is not exactly the same so the plant has stress and that is an issue with an auto that can't have veg extended to allow it to heal. If done correctly the plant should not get stressed at all.

My Jiffy pellet are placed on a seedling heat mat to speed germination, then transferred to premoistened final pot day after sprout. The tap root is always coming out the bottom of the Jiffy 24hrs after sprout. Note that netting is cut away. I use this method because I'm inept at transplanting and It stresses me to have shit flying everywhere when I try to transplant.
