trichomes and curing

oh and speaking of topping, has anyone had any experience topping their plants a few times to get more colas? i'm just wondering if it yields more or less, how many times to top, and if it takes any longer to grow start to finish seeing as your chopping the top of your plant off. I have always just planted my seeds and let them grow normal, but i'm interested in other methods for my next grow.

i topped my girl seems like she produced a lot more buds because of it, 2 main colas instead of one and more bud sites

maybe i'll try it myself. now i just have to figure out weather i want 2 or 4 colas on each plant. 4 colas would be nice but i think 16 total might be a little too much for my closet. wouldnt it be like having 16 plants if i topped them early? the 6 i have now kind of overwhelmed my closet during the veg state.

what i like to do is snap them about 3 times through out the whole grow 1 or twice mid way and once two weeks into flowering and by snap i mean bend.......they like it...

I would not think much more room than now, as a plant is a plant it will never grow out more than the mass of the plant as its programed to balance gravity, if ya get what i mean

guess i'll just take a chance and do it. I wont be starting new seeds for probably 2-3 weeks yet so i have some time to think about it

i knew i was getting close, cuz a lot of my leafs are dying off. my scrawniest plant doesnt have many left actually, but still no amber trichs.
the strain is power plant. i have 4 seeds left and i'm excited to start over after learning from previous mistakes

youre at the same stage i am and actually your plants look just like mine almost exact, i cant wait to start my next grow too, im thinking hydro :eyesmoke:

ok, i think 1 of my plants is done, it has about 50 50 amber and cloudy trichs, although the overall appearance of the bud isnt as dark as some of my other plants that dont hardly have any amber yet. just about all of the hairs are red probably 98%. now one of my friends said his uncle pulls his plant up by the roots, rinses the dirt off, then hangs the plant upside down roots and all. would this make any difference compared to just chopping the plant off at the base just above the soil?

Can i ask a Q?

when you first noticed the trichs turning amber, how long roughly did it take em to get to were they are now?

on this particular plant i started noticing an amber trich here and there (maybe 3%) about 2 - 3 weeks ago.

I just pulled this 1 up by the roots, the whole damn pot of soil came with it (7 gallons worth) so i know my roots were healthy, they were all over at the bottom. I decided to chop at the base anyway, the other way was too messy. now i read somewhere that you shouldnt re use pots, is this right?

now its time to trim my 1st plant of this crop. better smoke a bowl 1st. i usually save the smaller bud leafs and smoke those too, people dont like to buy leafy bud, and i cant stand to just throw them away cuz they're covered in trichomes. so i trim them off and put them in a seperate bag. it gets me high and that will give me something to smoke while i cure the bud

Any jar is better than no jar. Just make sure you de-odorize it first. Avoid pickles.
Dark glass is better than clear for this. Light degrades thc.
So clear stored dark is fine . . . w/snug fitting lid.

thanks man just in time lol, but how about a plastic ziplock container? would that do the same thing or does it need to be glass?

yep has to be glass. i use an old jar that had cherrys in it, you know the ones that are in syrup. try to find a jar that doesnt smell like anything strong especially on the inside of the lid.
