True Beginner / Poor Man's Grow

Hello yeah...Rillo, he's my little buddy lol. He showed up and started staying underneath our house...3 days later he finally came in and then got parvo. 3 months later he's happier than ever chewing up all my shit lol

Waddup guys? I was going to try and get an update last night, but my phone turned up missing and that's the only high res camera I have. The plant I named hermie has gone through a name change thanks to my girlfriend, and will now be called Cinderella. She's starting to finally put on some buddage. My guess is another 3-4 weeks and she'll be ready for cure. I know everything has taken forever on this grow, but it seems to me like the plants have undergone a bunch of stress due to temps and watering schedules so it's not really bothering me too much. The blue pot male I found got transplanted 2 nights ago onto the college campus near by right next to a sewage ditch. I know it's probably not the best place for it, but it was the most most place I could think of at the time.

Either I'm just a complete idiot at checking sex, or I have a solid 2-5 hermies right now. It's kind of heart breaking, but I'm hoping the "balls" that I see shoot out a white hair in a day or 2. I can't really tell if they are legitimately a nutt sack or if they are just pistils that havn't been shot yet. Anyway, if I find my phone I'll get you guys a picture update...but untill then words can only describe my babys

I'm pretty sure my last clone attempt from Cinderella took. It's been inside of a dome for atleast a week now. I opened up the peat pellet a tad bit and saw a little growth on the stem, I'm hoping this didn't screw anything up. I'm going to start flushing some Perlite now so that I can throw it into my DWC bucket in the next couple of days.

Well, good new and bad news. Bad News is I had to pull 3 more plants out due to being male. Also Plant #6 which is the plant with the biggest root ball and the blue plant both took a solid week to 2 week set back. Not exactly sure why? The blue one might have been set back due to me neglecting its feeding schedule a little bit. Anyway, they started to push on some white hairs today so I figured this meant they were still in the first week or 2 of flowering on their schedule, so I went ahead and lollipopped them. I ended up getting 7 clones from the blue pot plant and 1 clone from plant #6. I have spotted atleast 2 more females. One of which is in the DWC bucket. The clone that I took from Cinderella grew some roots so I transferred her from the peat pellet into a bubbler with Perlite as the medium. I planted some seeds a few days ago in my discurragement(sp?) from finding so many males and hermys. all 3 of those sprouted today, and are going to be set to veg for atleast 3 weeks. I'd like to put those in soil in some 3gal buckets but since these dam fungus gnats won't leave I'd rather just turn everything into hydro for a little while. This all just depends on how well the DWC plants I have going now work. Still no sign of my phone :/


Lesson Learned on building a cardboard cab:
Hot glue the pieces together firmly and then duck tape. The duck tape itself for some reason doesn't adhere well to the cardboard making it a sloppy box after a few days. Another idea would be to buy a few $1-$2 hinges and some screws and nuts and use those. I'm sure the metal wouldn't be to heave for the box, and it would look super professional......for a cardboard box.

Tell me about it....going from android capabilities to no capabilites. The first day or 2 it didn't really matter, but now....I'm freakin out Lol. I have a little shitty digi to take pics with so I'll try to get some for you guys today. Assuming RIU and this last bowl of reggie doesn't distract me

So I can't find my digi camera atm...I know, my life sucks So I decided just to spend today trying to rap my head around nutes and different tricks to help produce a bigger yield. I figured the lucky few of you that are following my thread will get some links on things I've found very useful. Btw, I am a huge fan of riddleme as well as a few other old timers around here, so most of these threads will be related to them in some way.

Update!!!!!

So I think according to "schedule" Cinderella will be done in 2 weeks. I don't believe that, I'm guessing atleast 4 weeks. I have yet to see trich production on her, and her buds are just now starting to fill out. My guess is Nutes along with lighting, but more specifically nutes. Anyway, 5 of the other 6 that are flowering should all finish around the same time, despite how long they've been in the ground. Still no sign of my phone :/

Waddup errbody??? Found my phone today...it was at my girlfriends old dorm room, must have dropped it under the bed while helping her move. Anyway, pictures are here According to my schedule Cinderella should be done a week from Sunday, but I'm not real sure if she's gonna be ready. Feels good to have some halfway decent pics again. I'll take more whenever they start to pack on some bud. I named the pictures so you guys knew which plants are which. For those of you following since I began, take a look at number 6 now...she looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different than when she was little.

That's exactly what I said! shit so far it's easy as pie Lol...get a bucket, an air pump (the $10 one at wal-mart is great), I have one of the 12" bubblestones I think, maybe a 6"?, and drill some holes in the bucket. All I did for mine was start them out in soil and poke some pretty large holes in the bottom of the cup and allow some roots to come out. Once they made it around 3" long I put them in the bucket, and they love it. I use MG All purpose 24-8-16 at about 1/4-1/3rd strength as well as 8 drops of superthrive in a gallon and a half of water. I change the water at about a week and a half, just depends on my schedule. I'm seriously considering converting most of my setup towards dodo as we call it.

Figured I'd throw you some side-by-side comparison photos of the same Pheno in hydro -vs- soil. Clearly you can tell the hydro plant is much wider and the canopy is much better for light absorption. Can't wait to see the yield difference.

What's happenin??? So I know I don't really post a lot here with updates and what not, but I'm gonna kick it in gear today. you guys will never guess what I found laying around work today. a 175w MH Ballast and a 175 MH bulb!!!!

Good News: It's perfect for my closet, and I've been considering a 150w lately anyway.

Bad News: It was wired up with the building electricity, and doesn't have a plug. So in my electronic ignorance I will be forced to figure out how to make this thing work. I'm thinking about throwing the MH inside my closet, and keeping my CFLs in there for all the extra spectrum colors. Here are pictures
