It actually looks like it has been reinstated, at least temporarily...Under trump...
The irony gives me a schadenfreude chubby...
To see trump marched up a gallows and hung, under his own law.... And that, my fine children, is why idiots ought to learn to shut the fuck up.
He did double the sentence for one thing he will be busted for I believe, the documents matter, a get Hilary type of thing...

I'd kind of remembered that it's only in time of war that my old right winger
buddy had told me, which, as you say is trump and magats shooting themselves
(him) in the ... i was gonna say foot, but isn't it in the heart for a firing squad?

How about imprisoned. Give him some gold plated bars, yanno.
Conjugal visits from Mel, where she'd slap his hand away. LMBO
any fantasies of trump facing a firing squad are just that, fantasies....
I'm still of the opinion that he will get the equivalent of house arrest at some federal facility, and his SS detail will serve as his jailers.
Others seem to think he will actually get put in a cell in a prison, but i just don't see it happening. Not because they wouldn't, but because they don't want to deal with the shitstorm the magats would cause when someone shanked him, which could only be avoided by keeping him in strict isolation.
It would also solve the problem of how to accomodate his SS detail. Saying give them an empty cell isn't going to cut it, they aren't being punished, and expecting them to give him full time protection in that kind of environment is just silly.

They get to work shifts and sitting outside his cell somewhere would be cheap, provide the best security and be a good job for some agent with a bad back to put in his time before retiring. The downside is they would need to deal with Donald on a minimal basis and sound proofing the cell door should help with the whining noises. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it... He might not have a house to be under arrest in, once the law and civil suits are done with him.

I'm sure the department of prisons has someone working on project #45 as we speak...

Judge denies Trump bid to delay trial over E. Jean Carroll rape allegation
Former President Trump’s trial in a case for alleged rape and libel is set to begin next week after a judge on Monday rejected Trump’s request for a one-month delay of the proceedings.

The civil trial stemming from author E. Jean Carroll’s allegation that Trump raped her in a New York department store in the 1990s will begin as scheduled on April 25. Trump has denied that the rape ever happened.

The judge denied an argument by Trump lawyers that a one-month delay in the trial was needed after the former president was indicted by a New York grand jury on felony charges of falsifying business records, saying it had caused so much publicity that the pause was warranted.
Manhattan Judge Lewis A. Kaplan rejected the argument, saying the criminal charges are “entirely unrelated” to the civil case and that Trump provoked much of the media coverage himself.

“This case is entirely unrelated to the state prosecution,” Kaplan said in the Monday decision. “The suggestion that the recent media coverage of the New York indictment – coverage significantly (though certainly not entirely) invited or provoked by Mr. Trump’s own actions – would preclude selection of a fair and impartial jury on April 25 is pure speculation.”

Kaplan also said he was concerned that the request for the pause was another “delay tactic” by Trump.
Carroll alleged in a lawsuit that Trump defamed her by calling her a liar when he denied that he raped her in a department store dressing room. She added a charge of battery under a recent New York law that allows survivors of sexual abuse to sue their alleged attackers in cases in which the statute of limitations has expired.

The civil suit against Trump is just one of the several legal woes facing the presidential candidate, including two federal probes into his handling of classified documents and his actions leading up to the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots. Trump was also charged earlier this month with 34 felony counts in his alleged role in hush-money payments made during the 2016 election.

Trump urges Murdoch to embrace false 2020 election claims in Dominion trial
Former President Trump is urging Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of Fox Corp., to embrace his false allegations of voter fraud if the media mogul is to give testimony during a jury trial in the defamation lawsuit facing Fox News this week.

“Fox News is in big trouble if they do not expose the truth on cheating in the 2020 election,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social early Monday morning. “They should do what’s right for America. When Rupert Murdoch says that there was no cheating in light of the massive proof that was there, it is ridiculous and very harmful to the fox case. Perhaps he should say that “he just didn’t know,” but that is hard to believe. Rupert, just tell the truth and good things will happen. The election of 2020 was rigged and stollen…you know it, & so does everyone else!”

Dominion Voting Systems is suing Fox for what it says was knowingly airing false claims about its software being promoted by Trump and his allies in the days and weeks following the 2020 election. Fox has defended itself on First Amendment grounds and so far has unsuccessfully sought to have the case dismissed.

Depositions given to Dominion’s lawyers and private communications from around the time of the election unearthed by Dominion’s process of legal discovery show Murdoch and other top leaders at Fox throwing cold water on Trump’s claims about the election and musing about distancing the network from the former president and his rhetoric.

A judge in Delaware overseeing this week’s trial indicated earlier this month he would stop Dominion’s lawyers from calling Murdoch, 92, as a live-in person witness during trial.

Opening arguments were slated to begin Monday, but Judge Eric Davis announced late Sunday the trial would be delayed by 24 hours, amid widely-reported settlement talks between Fox and Dominion.

Trump has grown increasingly critical of Fox in recent months, mainly over its coverage of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is expected to challenge him for the Republican nomination for president in 2024.

I must admit curiousity about trump's claim of "massive proof" of voter fraud.
Not that i expect any such thing to exist, but i'd like to know what constitutes such evidence to trump, and i'd like to know if he is capable of that amount of self delusion, or if he is just flatly lying through his teeth, which i already know he is capable of.

I posted a video of his recent deposition where he plead the 5th, that is as close as you get to a real Donald Trump. If he spoke at his recent deposition for hours, I don't need to tell you that he broke the law during it and that it can be proven. So, add perjury to the list of crimes, I'm sure we will be hearing about it.

But guys, wait a little. Mr. Smith is now investigating (which means he already has the goods) the wire fraud on "donations". Wait until that one hits. Then Trump doesn't have to lie about 'tears in the courthouse", they will be his. Prison time and confiscation of all funds.
I'll be perfectly honest with you, trump has become irrelevant to me, except as a symbol.
I'm MUCH more interested in taking down every member of the freedumb carcass, and every one involved in the fake electors scheme, right down to the county level. Those are the people who remain a threat to democracy, and HAVE to be dealt with.

Donald helped and will help with that; I believe Jack will go after members of congress over J6 and Mark Meadows will rat everybody out. Trump will also help with the 24 elections as either the republican nominee or a bull moose running from a cage with MTG as his VP pick on the stump for him. Joe would be delighted either way, the Whitehouse vs the Big house, how fucking clear do we have to make it? I'll bet even running as a bull moose from a cage, Donald would easily get 10% or more of the popular vote, even have his name written on millions of ballots. If he turned on the republicans while doing it, that would cost them too, it's a no-win situation for them, unless Donald goes to prison shuts up and does doesn't run, if he is indicted for wire fraud, he might not be able to fund raise online. Any money he has left won't do him any good in prison, so he might as well run for POTUS, they will eventually take his money anyway.

Breakthrough Development REVEALS Jack Smith’s Strategy in Mar-a-Lago Case

6,577 views Apr 17, 2023
Evan Corcoran, the lawyer who was advising Trump during his failure to comply with a subpoena, has been recused from the Mar-a-Lago documents federal case. This indicates Corcoran has been called as a witness, because you cannot simultaneously be a witness and an attorney in the same cause. Harry explains what this reveals about the case Jack Smith is putting together.
