Four members of the Oath Keepers were convicted of conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol on Monday, as a judge ordered jurors to continue deliberating over the most serious counts against two additional defendants.

That's it right there.

He makes too many people rich, for them to let him fall.
MADE...He doesn't do fuck all for anyone but himself now, so he is of no further value to them...Why do you think they were online telling people NOT to attend any of his protests, that they are police traps?
He's a useless doddering old fool who is too stupid to stop stepping in shit, no one wants him any more.

On the contrary. I think the only reason he hasn't been suicided is that his existence still benefits people/institutions financially, somehow.

trumps already tarnished Americas image. Locking him now after the fact isn't going to change anything.
America hasn't had the best image for quiet some time- It elected trump and has previously carried out illegal invasions and coup's as we all know.
Well yea it will. It shows that America will prosecute its own along with those from over seas. It means it values Democracy and the court of law.
Doing nothing just encourages Trump and the next wannabe dictator and is kinda counter productive to Democracy.
Its a bit better statement than letting him run for Prez again...

I say save the public from an exercise in futility.

I'd love to see trump locked up but this case in NY isn't going to accomplish that.

As you said yesterday, your advanced age gives you superior ability to predict the future and I'm sure that gives you plenty of comfort while you deal with bunions and other age-related problems like bad eyesight and low flow.

It's just that Manhattan NY DA Alvin Bragg has not released information from his investigation, he has not indicted Trump or specified any charges. So, us young-uns are left with nothing but speculation regarding what evidence Bragg has. We don't have the benefit of all your years. We need something more substantial, like facts (not opinions) and analysis from people who have actual experience in legal matters and not just wisdom that comes from 26,000 morning sessions on a toilet seat.

From an article by the NYT that was released today,

To prove that Mr. Trump committed that offense, prosecutors would seemingly need evidence showing that he had knowingly caused subordinates to make a false entry in his company’s records “with intent to defraud.” For the action to be a felony rather than a misdemeanor, prosecutors would also need to show that Mr. Trump falsified the business records with the intention of committing, aiding or concealing a second crime.

This is not an earthshaking event. People are charged with records fraud all the time. The criteria listed above seems pretty obvious to anybody who gives it a thought, even when rubbing their bunion or sitting on a porcelain throne. Do you think Bragg is stupid?

Somehow?...Care to be just a little more specific than somehow? That leaves you a pretty massive margin of error to play with.
He is under investigation so deeply that no one would dare do anything shady that involves him through less than 7 degrees of Kevin Bacons..

let’s not make light of the heartbreak of low flow.

I wonder how much beer it takes to write something like that?
Yes.

Sorry. I was trying to be sympathetic to the old man.

There’s no “I’m joking” font, alas. I was using my own advanced age as a foil.
we need a sarcasm font too.

But I picked up on what you were saying and played along. I'm no spring chicken myself, which made xt's claim -- that his old age makes him superior in his ability to predict the future -- into a subject for ridicule. lulz
