Right. Because all those millions who marched with Martin Luther King Jr were all white as ghosts, right?

They fought for those rights. No one 'gave' them to black people. It was made clear that the consequences of segregationism were high and would continue to mount.

It seems that such a time has arrived again. While others here might disagree, I think Bernie Sanders is one leader we can all rally around to demand our civil rights be respected, no matter what our color, gender, background, gender, sexual orientation, etc, etc, etc.

But I'm anti racist; I think that not only is racism morally repugnant but that we all need one another, and all of our contributions must be encouraged and respected if the promise of our nation is to be fulfilled. This is what I think.

And I don't need to foam at the mouth or insult any and all who might disagree for my words to carry the weight of moral righteousness.

Yes those laws that forced businesses to segregate did hurt the black community for sure. There is a big difference between forcing segregation and deregulation of business in general.

You dodged my question. Does this government today represent the peoples interests? I'll wait for your answer.

I'll also ask do you honestly think that businesses will willingly segregate if they are deregulated?


Also this golf course is it in the U.S. or not?

Racism in this country is due to the beliefs, teachings and actions of white people. Your Sanders movement would simply ignore these issues.

What I'm hearing from that idiot @Stephenj37826 who you are sucking up to is that nothing can be done about it if it exists at all. No wonder you agree. This fits your cozy little Sanders world where racism goes away when your economic issues are given their due.

I have laid out my first step in taking the power away from police. End the racist war on drugs. Secondly the less probable cause a racist police force has the less they can effect each individual. In other words take away most of there authority and they will have to effectively break the law to marginalize minorities. If they couldn't pull people over and search them for illicit substances what excuse would they have to interfere with the citizenry? Furthermore why would someone run from police at that point other than being wanted for real crimes with real victims?

Surely you can understand.

Ending the war on drugs wont make racist cops less likely to beat black people. You conflate two problems that intersect but are unrelated. Then you blame the victim.

The KKK practically runs some police stations in the south. Berkeley California, one of the more liberal towns in the US admits to problems with racist cops on its force.

War on Drugs is evil and must end
Cops beating and killing black people for no good reason must end.

The two issues intersect but the solutions to each are very different.

Running away from a police officer isn't a capital offense, nor does it ever justify a beating or gun to a head after all resistance has ended. Do you deny these things happen at higher rates to black people than to white people?
