the problem is injecting race. dirt, shithole and citizenry aren't racially charged words. so who charged shithole here? the usual lefty suspects, op, bunk, ect....and the 96% of journalists that donated to hillary it seems.

same people who look to Norway, the rest of Scandinavia and Europe as model examples of what america should be economically and socially.

This still avoids the cental question of why the furher is okay with folks coming from Normay but not those coming from Africa? There must be a difference in their personhood in his eyes... how can there not be? If there wasnt then there would be no reason to want to exclude them...

I think he said countries in africa, not the entire continent? the whole point was who individually is better for the American economy. for the record, my Nigerian optometrist is awesome for our economy.

Then please explain how the condition of a given country effects who we want to let in and who we do not? Why do we not want an Ethiopian but would gladly take a Normegian? What is the difference between a Normegian and a Haitian or Ethiopian?

Send these, the homeless tempest tossed to me" with "send us only your brightest pre-educated that can instantly make 6 figures and contribute to our economy bigly?"

Yes im being hyperbolic but instant economic contribution should not be the golden ticket in. If it was i doubt id be here...i dont think our nation wants to live any of The New Collossus anymore :(

why doesn't the left present Haitian or Ethiopian economic models as progressive paths we should duplicate and instead point to denmark and Norway?

I agree on all in this post. Except first line im not sure i follow what you are saying.

Some of my closest friends are immigrants, and an overwhelming majority came here uneducated with little and now everyone of them is wealthier than i. They worked like dogs at menial jobs and scrimped and saved and now employ many American born Americans...

I beyond agree with the last line, but without us getting too far in the weeds on that topic, immigrants from Haiti and Africa are not the driving force of our poverty problem. A worthy topic that probably merits a thread of its own.
