DAY 18: just finished giving them their first watering with nutrients. The plan is to do 1 more hand watering and then set up the autopot. I am using fastbuds nutrient chart. With the next batch of plants i am planning on giving them some velo kelp early on. Maybe even using it when wetting the pro mix.7114BA4D-B6B0-4A13-AC12-520CF8A34521.jpeg5FFCCCEE-C275-4FFA-BA8C-7D947218C6CB.jpegF671475B-48ED-4442-8385-468767E7147C.jpeg

DAY 19: seems like the watering helped. I think they could have used more nutrients because they still look pale. Going to increase them a bit with the next watering.BCD60017-8DBB-4082-BC6B-DB44844199D2.jpeg69214742-FC32-40E7-931C-DE821FFB09C4.jpegDBFBC6B3-57B3-4447-A88C-2751DEBF965D.jpegBE373925-D4C8-4CDF-A789-3A9107BC38C8.jpeg

Thanks for the advice but i have decided to keep these going anyways. My plants usually end up vegging longer than normal for some reason. We shall see where they go from here.
Longer is Good !

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll at least get a taste and had a lesson in watering ;)

Definitely give them a little more food !

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely give them more food. Update on the other 2 seeds. Looks like the root is starting to form. 9A82AF19-9080-4FA1-86CD-B9AC9D67CDB8.jpeg

Looking good, plant them ;)

Did you "wet" your ProMix HP yesterday ?

Actually ProMix HP drains so well you could do it now....

Cheers
I was just about to moisten it. I am not really sure if it is best to just moisten it while mixing it up than filling the pot than place seed and let it do its thing or after planting the seed pour, spray or drip a little water.

You'd probably have better success just growing in a decent premixed soil that all you need to do is add water. Save the promix/amended promix/autopots for another day.
Thanks for the suggestion. I think you’re right but i got the promix already. Also wanna try and figure this out. After i might just switch to coco because the plants went crazy when used as the grow medium.

Fill your cups, Water to run off and plant your seeds. Then leave them alone until the cup starts to feel "light"...

Spritzing is useless, the seed will grow a tap root into whatever water is in the bottom of the cup. When needed, a small amount of water around the edges will encourage side growth.

I prefer yogurt containers with holes in the bottom And place them on a plant elevator so they have air flow on the bottom.

I am actually going to plant then directly into 3 gallon smart pots. The seeds are blue microverse autoflower. I am assuming i don’t want to water till runoff if that is the case. Also don’t know if i should add velo kelp for the moistening of the mix. Don’t want them to get stunted as they are already supposed to be a small and fast plant to begin with.

Velo (?) shouldn't be necessary...

You could fully water or "wet" the container with at least half a gallon.

I did a test with my 5 gallon fabric pots, after fully watering they started to feel light after four days with no plants. My goal is three days...

Over watering with ProMIx is only an issue when you don't do a wet/dry cycle.

So overwatering is basically watering before it's time...
