Inbox is full kitty :)
I hate how RIU limits you to 50 messages. I have to clean the damn thing out every week.

Kitty you ever hear of glass tubes cracking or breaking? I haven't personally but that's why I use stainless steel tubes and mesh metal screens
I think you refer to them cracking or breaking while being used for BHO extraction....... I've used them forever as glass, never used a steel one. As long as the glass is 3mm thick and borosilicate (pyrex) it'll hold up perfectly fine. I made some BHO extractor tubes today as well, 4 total, each holds around 1 oz to 1.5 oz of extract give or take. Really easy to use, just rubber band a coffee filter to the end of it after filling it with frozen ground up herb. Toss one can of butane (the big can) and your done........ You do have to wear gloves, or use a paper towel or two, to avoid freezing your hand, but that's it! The other nice thing about the glass ones is they dont create such a pressure like the pvc/steel ones because the holes arent exactly the same as the tip of the butane can. It makes it not pop back at you just ease the butane in over a minute or two.

Not only is glass safer than pvc or metals extractor tubes, it's also helps the kitty "Buy a Kinect" fund if you buy one from me. :) :)

Hey kitty, i tried to PM you....

Cool beans research kitty.

Yeah about a year ago I had a pyrex dish explode in my hands, so ever since then I'm terrified of a repeat incident.

My mistake was taking it out of the oven and putting it on a hot stove burner by accident.. 20 seconds later I picked it up and BOOM

I had to move the fridge yesterday and I found more of the glass

I was pulling shards out of my stomach and arms when it happened.

that's crazy, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do the "purge". They always say to "do it in a well ventalated area, always outside" but then in most videos they do there purge inside.

It seems like outside, on a gas barbeque, which I've seen them do in vids also, would be even more dangerous.

how do u do It kitty?

That's the lazy way really. :) What you want to do is let the butane roll around in a pyrex dish for a few minutes, till most of the butane, say 90% of it has boiled off. Then drip and scrape the dishes contents onto wax parchment paper. It'll still be bubbling a little bit probably. Put the wax paper in a jar, and the jar to a vacuum and heat the jar a little with a torch. It's called vac purging. Here's a video:

Now remember, my tubes, if you bought one, wouldnt work with marijuana. Only tobacco. :)

Yup! They are $25 delivered. PM me if you'd like one with your paypal email and I'll send an invoice out soon as I see it. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow once they finish cooling off in the kiln.

Is your oil runny after the long exposure?

I'm still experimenting with my tek but I'm finding it's more stable if you can evap the majority of the butane as soon as possible - so I'm interested to see what its like

I run it into one pan, and place it inside another pan, then fill the second pan with hot hot tap water... this will get rid of 14oz of butane in like 3 minutes rather safely..

let me know if I'm hijacking kitty ill delete this post

Well I'm lookin into vacuum sealers, seems like the way to go is a brake bleeder. I'm lookin online for the one used in the vid verde posted. The mityvac. I'm wonderin if it comes with the suction cup… I think that's what he uses?

Kitty I may need a oil dish that fits inside a mason jar ;) and a dabber stick with a skull. On the end of the handle!

Hmm, neat, an oil dish instead of parchment inside the mason jar................ :)

And then ill make a little custom stand to hold the jar upside down, but keep it up off the counter so I can still attach the suction cup to the lid of the jar. This will also make it easier to get the dish in and out of the jar, I will just lift the glass on and off and the lid will be a stationary platform.

Lol as long as I can make it work. Ill tinker around with it

 my mightyvac broke at the handle from me pumping it so hard and long purging each batch of oil 4 times...

I'm literally going to SEARS to return it after this post.. i was just checking my subbed threads

Me and Benassi aren't using a suction cup.... you can get some type of modifier for mason jars that I don't use..... we use FOOD SAVER JARS.... the plastic ones. You can get a set of 3 big ones at sears for less than $25.... they are nice I use them for herb, the big one holds about 6 ounces, the medium one holds a little over 3-4... and the small one will do 1.5-2.... they come in handy when not running oil... I used the medium sized one to purge 15g of oil inside parchment and it worked really well.

The mighty vac brake bleeder comes with many hose attachment/adapters... a few of them fit the little input holes WELL, and allows you to use a might vac on a food saver jar...

here is me purging with a dish in a food safe jar

alllll those bubbles are butane baby.

That rocks SV. I thikn if you used a bigger dish / bigger jar and wrapped the top with parchment paper and poked a bunch of holes in it and then wrap the rubber band around the dish that it might keep it from overbubbling. Or it could shoot out like a rocket. Could go either way <G>
