i always found the thought of glow-in-the-dark glass kinda silly. unless you are 12.

i can't remember the last time i smoked in a room dark enough to see glow-in-the-dark anything. and you still need to hold it up to a light and then cup your hands over it to see it. and then it's like "yep, it glows".

i call "gimmick" to increase sales.

:eyesmoke:

I still wish they made the blinkey shoes that light up when you walk in adult sizes :(

im going to humboldt to meet up with a friend. you guys in the area? I wanna go to the lake and get blurry

Completely different time zone. :)

I love the Green Lantern. Having just the bowl glow in the dark, maybe even lines at the top of the bowl to create a GL symbol, would be awesome. The lighter would help it glow when it lights the bowl at least haha.

Sorry if I'm a lurker Kitty, I won't be able to get glass equipment for some time. I obviously don't want to miss out on all the pretty artwork though. :}

Lurkers are good! I lurked before starting too. Just be sure you make a journal when you do!

BTW -- It's a little known thing that there'll be a glass sub-forum here in just a few weeks...... ;)

The glass forums been up for a week or two.. my glass has been on here for month or two.. did a demo a few weeks ago. its in my sig

no wireless internet at my house. I use my phone on this site. Im gonna tether it to my laptop so if it is fast enough for that I might join.

aren't you already posting in it? :?

I would love to learn to mold glass.

I have a thiroid condition and it causes tremors throughout my body. Sicks cuz it alwaya gets worse when I'm doing something meticulous.

Maybe glass blowking could replace my lost dream of becoming a tattoo artist. I don't think a llittle shaking would be as detrimental to glass blowing as it would be to tattooing lol

Been diabetic for 17 years, my hands shake too. I find that all I have to do is rest my elbow against my hip and then my hands balance for fine detail or tool work. You'd be perfectly happy. :) :)

Sorry to hear about the diabetes RK. Must be tough to live with.

I hope your not at the point of daily insulin :(.

<3

I made some plushberry oil and it came out hard enough to where it never melts its like putty I can even hold it in my hand and it won't stick to me. The jack herer was way more oil. I like the hard better since I have it on parchment paper and still have oil in my dish I don't want to mix it.

But the plush I pressed into a nice half dollar sized piece I been breakin down lol. She will be the size of a quarter soon.

I've always taken insulin every day 4x a day =) Believe it or not its the way to go if your diabetic! 15% of diabetics take insulin. The other 85% have to manage it with pills and exercise and dieting. (Generally because they are overly fat fucks to begin with, I'm not, I'm hot!) When you replace insulin instead of have to manage insulin, you can live a regular normal life. Its about as disruptive as having to shave every day, nothing more. They call me a Type 1 diabetic because my pancreas (that makes insulin) is dead. Why, who knows. Type 2 diabetics are the folks on the pills/diet/exercise and most are diabetic because their body is so big their pancreas cant support making enough insulin for their large ass. Weird eh? :)

Yeah I know the deal, I have two relatives with it..both type one.. one is on an insulin pump, the other takes a shot in the stomach every morning.

Its enough to keep me of the sweets, that's for sure.

By the way my rasta dish has some slight cracking going on.. it hasn't been dropped its just deep inside the glass..
..
Anyway id love another  different colors and a shallower dish would be lovely :)

I'll work you a deal on one you cant refuse to replace it. :) The rasta tubing wasnt made by me, that must be the problem! :) In all seriousness any cracks shouldnt hurt anything, as long as you cant feel them with your fingernail.

I've been making them about the width of a half dollar now. I also made some in some really funky colors.

Slyme, Blue Blizzard, and Red Blizzard. The second blue one has a snow white lip. The slyme is an ectoplasma style green ghostbusters-ish green. It photographs more like a yellow lime but its really ghostbuster slymy. :)

I also write the weight of the dish in 00.xx grams on the bottom of the dish, that way you can weigh the oil by weighing the dish and subtracting the dish weight. Its written in titanium pen and will never come off.
