So, I was looking at my timer today, and noticed something weird.... It has 1.75 hours between time on/off instead of 2 hours !!! That, and there are 14 settings for each day instead of 12. Which means I've been doing 7*1.75= 12.25 hours on day/night. I thought "no biggie, as long as it's 12 hours darkness or MORE it should be cool", and it would be... but there's one cycle per week that only has 13 pins instead of 14 !!!!

So that means that one time a week, I've been giving the plant 12.25 hours of light and only 10.5 hours of dark !!!! The whole flowering time !!!! I think this is the big reason I'm not seeing flowers yet and I've got pre-flowers out the ying-yang with the plant still stretching everywhere !!! I flipped those 2 settings to 12.25 dark and 10.5 light, so hopefully that will push her along and she'll stop this stretch soon ! The clone has reached 30.5" now and the tallest stem on the mom is like 29.5" tall now.

I'm going on vacation in a little over a month and a half and this plant was supposed to be finished right before then. I've got a good buddy that I know I can trust the plant with if it comes to it... but he's not going to know a damn thing to do with the plant come harvest time. Hopefully she won't get over-ripe before I can get back (I'll be gone for 5-6 days) or she's done before I leave. IDK, but you've gotta love all the shit that comes with the first grow !!!!

You are at least 30-40 days away from harvest. I would just chop it 3-4 days before you leave, dry it, jar it the night before you take off & come back to nice cured nugs. :)

Ohh & try some unsulphured molasses 1 tbsp per gallon of water. You can't really over feed with it if you use it every watering, it will fatten your buds up & sweeten them up too.

I've heard BAD things about using molasses in hydro though man. I'll do it on my "Stretch Armstrong" clone that's in coco and perlite.

Day 61 (Day 30 of 12/12):

My batteries in my cam died, so not a ton of pics today either.

top.jpg201_2538.JPG201_2539.JPG201_2541.JPG201_2542.JPG201_2544.JPG201_2545.JPG

I added the Shop-lite back to give the stretched out plant some more light in the blue spectrum to hope it will stop stretching. That clone was abused so bad I'll honestly be happy to get like 7g from it. :)

Day 62 (Day 31 of 12/12):

Had to tie down stretch today. She had grown above the HPS light level. Everything else has been looking pretty decent lately, but the momma plant in the DWC Bubbler hasn't really been drinking up much water. Anybody know what could cause that ??? She's stopped stretching, so I'm hoping it's just part of the transition to concentrating on on the flowers.

Yeah, it was a noob mistake. I was worried about heat and left the light too far up. You grow, you learn, and then hopefully you grow better the next time :)

Definitely man, i made plenty of mistakes too, just finished my first harvest, it is a sweet sweet feeling having something like this come to fruition. Good luck on the grow, lets hope for some dank nugs :)

Peace

Day 66 (Day 35 of 12/12):

Blooming slowly, but blooming none the less. Some of the smaller shoots and the tops of 2 main colas withered and are dead or dying :S. Other parts of the plant are looking great though. No bugs in the room and the roots look fine. IDK, but it looks like it's been limited to a few places for some reason.

201_2566.JPG201_2567.JPG201_2568.JPG201_2569.JPG201_2570.JPG201_2571.JPG201_2572.JPG201_2573.JPG201_2574.JPG201_2575.JPG201_2577.JPG201_2578.JPG201_2579.JPG201_2593.JPG201_2599.JPG201_2601.JPG201_2602.JPG201_2603.JPG

Day 72 (Day 41 of 12/12):

Stretch is looking pretty absurd and budding all over the place. The hydro plant is dying in places and isn't budding near as well as the clone in coco/perlite. All that I've been through with this grow so far might steer me in the direction of coco for now. It's been much less hassel and a far healthier plant, even if it's WAY stretched out.

Oh, forgot to mention I've been adding molasses to the clone's water. Anybody have an ETA on these plants ??? I've got 4 weeks until I'm leaving the country for a week, so I'm hoping the hydro plant will be done before I leave and the clone (stretch) will be done about the time I get back. I've got a buddy coming over to house-sit while I'm away and he can easily just give straight water to the clone, so no worries about that.

Thanks man ! I've screwed up more times then I can even remember on this plant, so I'll be happy with whatever smoke I get from her. All the better to fuck up a bunch of time on this first run so I know what NOT to do in the future.

Hey Jones! Lookin good overall man. No better way to learn to to mess it up a few times. Don't sweat it. As long as she is still alive you're not doin' too bad!

that does look pretty good for flouros. i did the same thing a year ago and ended up killing them by way of root rot. since then ive stuck to the kiss method. i adjust the ph, add nutes, adjust ph again. i have no meters, just dropplets, and add fert when ph raises. seems to work pretty good, just check out my thread. the biggest factor for me and i cant say this enough way switching to hid. it changed everything. the cheapest way to go i found was HTG supply. complete 400w system for $120

and i have no idea on the time you have left. for me it takes about 2.5 months, then drying for a week, then curing for three months. you got someone you can trust to look after them?

Yeah man, my best friend is house sitting for that week. I'm going to PH the water out and put it in gallon jugs w/ instructions on how much to add and when.

If you look back in my pics you'll see that there was a 150w HPS ghetto rigged up. Right now I've got the 2x32w 4ft t8's, 2x32w cfls, and a 150w HPS running for 278W @ 24,400 lumens. This heat down south has been the issue I've been battling most, but I think things will get easier when fall comes around in my next grow.

I'm feelin the heat here too in the south. it's a harsh battle that my electric bill is bearing. Hang in there, temps should be better for the next round.

2 words... ROOT ROT. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I slack off for 2 days and my hydro plant is looking BAD. Way eat up with the root rot. So, I've repeated what I did to save her the first time and hope it's not to late. The stretched out Clone that's in the coco is looking pretty great in contrast. Very healthy and budding everywhere. I can't find my camera, but I'll try to throw some pics up on here tomorrow.
