Cool beans. That's pretty much the same set up I have. All you gotta do is put the right color wires in the right place. Should be a piece of cake. I'll be busy til sunday night as its the opening day of the hill and its going to be epic! I'll put together something nice and simple to understand for ya then.

Basically it seemed to me that you needed allot of different plugs in your grow room. Both 120 and 240. When that is the case it's jut easier to run big line to a sub panel. Then you just treat your sub panel like a regular breaker box. Put the breakers you need in there and done..

Do you feel the way I am choosing to do it is a wise method ? Just want to make sure its all good with the pro's in here before I up and do it.
so itll be a added in 40 amp circuit to my current breaker box, A line ran to my timed / untimed box & everything in the room ran from that & the rooms outlets.
8/2 is the right wire for a 40 amp right ?

Hey just noticed you only have 4 outlets coming off your timer. You'll only be able to run 4 lights until you install new outlets. You can put more on that timer as its rated to 40a but it only has 4 for now. I've set those timers up with 8 1000w lights on them, just a matter of putting more outlets. DO NOT connect more lights to the plugs with a splitter though, you'll potentially overload the wire connecting the plugs to the timer. I'll take some pics of mine so you can see whats happening and maybe figure it out.

Haven't been on here in a while but I've decided to get going again and I've been following your's and medimary's thread's on under current set ups. I am just about finished mine and have to just wait on the air pump and some other things. Your plants look great and can't wait to see some bigger buds.
So I hope you dont mind me sharing. I ended up using the new blacked out container's from cch2o along with the new lids and 3" bulk heads on 8 gal buckets. It would have much cheaper to use something else but it kept it professional looking and all the new stuff is very nice for ease of use while plants are in them.
Ill be running a 4 site system for now with plans to add on later. I bought a 1300 gph pump and the ap-100 for all my air needs around the grow room. I have a ro system i will be plumbing into the res with a float valve from cch20 as well to auto top off between changes.
Anyone else think we need to get a new under current sub forum ? Its been a while with people messing with it and the system is top notch for the plants while quite simple of system whether you buy it or do it yourself.

Thanks man for clearing that up I figured I would have to buy a hole new box to run my last 4 lights. After this upgrade we will be at 4 lights, Then the end of the year the other 2 lights will be coming in. I am pretty sure I have it all figured out from watching youtube videos on how to add in circuits. If you could still post up that walk through that would be great man
Going to get the 8/2 wire next weekend and get it done ASAP once I feel 100% confident with it.

Hey so this should be fairly simple, I've taken I few shots of my own set up to walk ya through.
This is your timer box that you'll bring your power into. You'll need to strip a good 8" of jacket off so you have adequate length of wire to connect to the terminals. I start with the ground wire (copper) then do the neutral (white). Tighten then down securely but no need to go crazy. Then connect your hot wires. It doesn't actually matter what color of red or black go on each terminal
This a 3/4" dry type connector what you use to enter your wire into your timer and secure it.
I like to use 1/2" 1 hole straps to support my cable. You can also use s4 staples which are a pain in the arse.
Your panel. Make sure you turn the main breaker off before doing any work. Once that is off then there is no power in the panel and you can work, you can pick up a cheap voltage tester to make sure nothing is on, nice to have for making sure. You'll be putting in a 40a breaker and then connecting the copper wire to the ground bus, the neutral to the nuetral bus and the hots to the terminals on your breaker. Its easiest to just copy whats going on in the other breakers.
Close up of what you'll be doing in your panel. The only thing that you can really do wrong here is connect your breaker on the same phase. Most panels make this really hard to do, basically if you look at the picture of my panel you'll see the fins that go down the center of the panel each have a phase on them. You need each pole of your breaker to connect on one of each phases. Just copy what you see in the panel and if your not absolutely sure don't do it. Connecting on the same phase load the neutral with double the amperage and since it isn't protected by a breaker it will keep doing so until it melts.

Wow man extremely informative, Especially about the phase part. Thanks a ton So those little fins that come out of the pannel I just need to make sure my circuit connects to 2 of those ?

As for the phases it depends on your panel. If it's a Siemens like mine you don't have to worry its impossible to mess it up. Some brands are trickier. Just do your best to copy another 2 pole breaker in your panel. If not sure take a picture and send my way.

Whatsup everybody, I'm still alive ! internet was down for awhile. Plants are better looking than ever the new A/C is in and working great. Expect a big update this weekend ! Have also been speaking a lot with health Canada about becoming a commercial grower under the new program. Things are looking good big things to come in the future hopefully !

That's great news can't wait for the update your probly really starting to be able to see those nugs, and what's it like in Canada do you get a salary in canada or more independent like you vend the stuff for the price you want to clubs and stuff? I'm in calimso you basicly just "vend" your stuff for donations.
