Soil: black gold organic with fertilizer(orange bag) with perlite, worm castings and egg shell dust added in when planted

Ph was at 10 until I got my ph tester today
Lowered “yikes”

Looks like calcium issues but also I have holes in two leaves checked for bugs and caterpillars but nothing to be found.
Using 4 year old seeds unidentified

nitrogen def on lower leaves it kind a looks like, the rest of the plant looks healthy. pinch those two leaves off and watch for any more lower leaves turning yellow.
N,P & K issues cause the lower leaves to show problems, where as micro nute problems cause the upper leaves to show issues

Thanks that was my second guess! Any idea about the holes in the leaves?

Yeah just waiting on my VIVOSUN aero wing Asw200e to arrive tomorrow then I’ll go to 10 inch pot and final transplant to 7 gallon when I can get all my tomatoes and basil out of the room when the weather is good

They're just hungry. You can tell because the newer fans up top are turning a bit pale, but nothing crazy yet.

Typically, I don't really sweat over those older, bottom fan leaves dying off. The plant is young, and goes through some adjusting it's first handful of weeks of life.

The leaf with holes.. it got damaged at some point, or maybe a mutation, or a ph-issue you often see in young plants as they adjust to their grow medium. Happens often with young plants, and won't affect anything negatively. Plants in veg can be put through the ringer, and still come around once dialed-in.

Do we not think pH of 10 locked everything out and might not wanna change much until that problem is solved or you are gonna ping pong?

I question the test that read a ph of 10 . That's awful high . I can't see a plant living long enough for it to get that high ?
I just started watering with rain water from my collection unit and when I saw the ph level I thought the same thing until I checked it and saw it was contaminated with high algae bloom

After years of doing this and reading similar posts, I am absolutely convinced that pH is probably the #1 culprit among plant problems. Pre-mixed soil-LESS mixes sometimes assume that people are growing tomatoes and they make the mix very acidic. But, when the pH turns out to be as high (alkaline/basic) as what you're reporting, then I'd get some General Hydroponics test drops and throw that pen in the garbage. At a pH of 10, your plant would be fried in a matter of a day or two, but it doesn't look that bad at all.

You probably have plenty of nutrients in the mix....but they are all being locked out by a wonky pH.

General Hydroponics test DROPS....unless you are color blind! ;)
