Upgrade air exhaust or get vented hood?

Hello all. I recently upgraded some antiquated equipment and built two new rooms for my ladies. I constructed two new rooms, each 5x5 7ft tall. in the veg room, i have a 400 watt mh, with a single fan blowing on the plants. the room stays pretty cool. in the flowering room, i have a 1000 watt hps. (both lights are digital ballast) there is a 4 inch inline fan connected to a carbon filter. The room has a passive intake. A single fan blows on the plants. Walls are painted flat white. There is negative pressure indicated by suction when the door is opened.

Well here is where the question arises. It gets warm in there. Too warm. As a matter of fact, ive started to notice that i have been getting hermi plants. I am pretty sure this is what is causing the issue. Air conditioning is pretty much out of the question due to cost restraints, plus not enough amperage to run one. So i am stuck with TWO options. Either upgrade the 4 inch inline and carbon filter to an eight inch and hope it helps, or get an additional 6 inch inline with a air flow hood for the light. Which would be the best option to cool the room down to acceptable temps?

A few side notes: there are NO LIGHT LEAKS. ive checked many times. Air conditioning is not going to happen. The rooms were built because i have recently had to become more security conscience and keep everything well hidden. I used to grow in an open space that had tones of air flow naturally.

Using a six inch inline probably wouldn't hurt.
Yea thats what i was thinking to get proper air exchange. Cannabis only needs to take 1/3 of the natural amt of co2 from a room before it starts fixing 02 instead. Extra air flow AND a cool tube would be optimal imo but the cool tube or some type of in line hood is definitely a must. I run a 600w in a blockbuster hood for a 4x4 and temp is stable at 72 degrees 8 inches from the bulb.

This hood traps alot more warm air than your typical cool tube will.

Are you using CO2? Are you using a scrubber? Your going to lose @20%cfms do to it pulling through that. Plus you can put a speed control on a 6inch for cheep and it might even be quieter. Yes, 1000w's get hot. In a small area or tent directly venting the hood is a must imo.

I'm only a noob here but if you've got a good amount of negative pressure, (I'm sure you want a little if odor control is a concern) couldn't you open your intake hole up some to get more air flow while retaining a slight negative pressure? If that didn't do enough, then upgrade.

I've left the door wide open for a better part of the day and it still got pretty hot. So I guess I'm going with a 6" inline attached to a air hood. Along side my 4" inline that's attached to a scrubber.

I am running a 600w HPS open reflector in a 5x5x7 tent and need to exhaust the heat from inside the tent to outside the tent. Will buying a carbon filter and inline fan with ducting ventilating outside the tent do the trick?

Here is a photo of my little set up:

Okay so ill go with a 6" Inline fan and carbon filter. Will this work for me? http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-AH-IF4-CF4/dp/B01A30692O/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1454283945&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=apollo+carbon+filter+and+inline+fan&psc=1

I still don't understand if the carbon filter and inline fan hooked up inside the tent exhausting outside the tent will fix my temperatures ? or is that just for the smell? I'm slightly confused
A fan with carbon scrubber will vent the heat out and clean the air of smells. I can't say if the 6" will be enough, being as I am currently running the 4" and am having problems. I'll be getting an air hood soon, so I hope that helps when used in connection with my current setup. I'll have the 4" with carbon filter to clean the air and give air exchange along side a 6" fan connected to an air hood. We will see.

Alright so my next issue is, since i am using an open reflector HPS and cannot connect a duct to the light. How would I install the carbon filter and inline fan in my tent? Simply set it on the floor of the tent with inline fan on top and plug n go? Wouldn't that generate too much heat from the bottom of the filter?

Common knowledge is that heat rises. Your carbon filter and fan should be up high. YouTube has some wonderful videos about how to set up a grow room.

If big enough. Go with the 6" or bigger. 4" just doesn't cut it.
I totally agree i got a 4 i ch back wnen i had a closet set u p and kt worked for the t5 lights to keep the closet cool but cooling my 600w it just keeps temps in low 80s with the tent sealed up. Im using a vented hood. I need to upgrade to a 6 inch fan and filter.
