Urgent!! Please Help with Ductwork

I had to move my grow from my living room to my closet. I am now trying to set up my exhaust and i cannot get this damn duct around my reducer.

The reducer is 6 inches, duct is semi rigid 6 inches. It keeps ripping. I have been trying for over an hour. I attached the 4 inch flex duct no problem. All the stores are closed and they didn't have 6 inch flex duct anyway.

Please, wtf am i doing wrong?

if all stores r closed duct tape is your friend for now.

They are probably the same size. Just hold them end to end and tape them together until you have a more permanent solution.

sounds to me like you need a sleeve in there. got an old coffie can? 5lb fits a six in duct, well its close.

I had this problem one time.On the rigid edged side,take tin snips and cut 1 inch into it.Do this about an inch apart all the way around it.The other end that was not cut should fit right into it.Then put a few sheet metal screws in to keep stable and then duct tape around it.Worked just fine.

i don't have an old coffee can. I've tried duct tapig but it's a mess and has air leaks. im just going to risk it until i get off of work tomorrow. can i get a sleeve from a hardware store? the duct doesnt fit on the cool tube either.

Yea, just tell them you got 2 6in pieces of ducting you are trying to join.
