Ok question I'm using GH Trio is it bad to use 12% peroxide along side with nutrients. Asking cause I don't wanna kill anything beneficial to the plants or roots.
Dilute it before I pour it in the res?Yes, I use 12% hydrogen peroxide. Just dilute it according to reason for use.

Thanks man check your DMsBleach (sodium hypochlorite) > H202 (hydrogen peroxide)
Bleach is both safer to use and harder to overdo with longer sterilizing and cleaning effect. The sodium part is minute compared to the hypochlorite side of the molecule and the application rate is extremely low hence no Sodium to cause any plant related problems, arguably only positive.
There's many chlorine based commercial product marketed towards growers like "Pyth Off" or "Silver bullet", all of them containing hypochlorous acid, the same active compound found in bleach.
If you go the chlorine route I have the dilution calculator with recommendations in my signature.
All the best of luck!
Cheers!
I've only used powder version so it doesn't matter. But yes I use it at chop and flush the pot out with it then shake my coco off the root ball best I can in to a storage trash can, and let it sit till I next use it. Coco is nice and clean without the old roots or other bad stuff that may have happened. I believe it happens fairly quickly.Which Api product would you recommend for clearing fine roots from coco sitting in the bag, there's a liquid and powder version does it matter?
Hey bud, thanks for sharing, I've bought eco fix to try, I was wondering how much ecofix to how much water do you use?I struggled with aero last year when I first moved into this house. Even with crazy amounts of bleach, my roots would rot in a couple of days. I decided to go the benny route, and I found two amazing products that have worked wonders for me, and several others here. They are designed for ponds and aquariums, but are amazingly effective in hydro. Plus, they are super cheap. They are both from a company called API. The first is Tap Water Conditioner that neutralizes chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals. The other is Ecofix, which is a super concentrated liquid blend of beneficial bacteria. I only add a small amount twice per week. I've tried hydroguard, Great White, and SA's GFF all with some success. But the Ecofix is a game changer. My rez temps get into the mid 80s, but all my roots stay a pristine white. You can find these items on amazon.
