Vacationing with Vladimir Putin

Hey reddan, it's been a while.

That's a refreshing departure from the current conversation. Yours is a leftist political ideal if I ever heard one. The Sanders supporters around here have been calling themselves "far left" but really are just liberals who want to make some minor tweaks to our capitalist system. Perhaps you can school these Sandernistas (snicker) on what "the left" really stands for.

The leaderless society you envision would have to be very different from the capitalist one we have today. Care to expand on the idea a bit more?
i honestly wouldnt know where to begin. What i do know is that currently this whole shit show lacks accountability. Leaders are free to collapse societies with their decisions. These people that are supposed to REPRESENT us, have elevated themselves ABOVE us.

Dont get me wrong Im not whole heartedly advocating for a leaderless society, but the political soup we are being served remains the same past due date flavour. We keep re-stirring the pot and expecting a different flavour. We need some new ingredients. We need to change our thinking on a whole heap of subjects.

Look at how money(or more specifically the accumulation of and over abundance in certain sectors) is the deciding factor in the majority of our societal problems.
Money is supposed to be a token directly related to effort, but now it is the hurdle that is placed before us to slow us down. The lack of it can cause servere depravity.

In this technological era surely we could format a type of intranet based holacrastic system, where key decisions were put to us, to vote on? A sort of E-vote system. That would be a starting point.

We could then attempt to separate big money holders and their hold on governments, by using spending caps and the like, then clean house using the framework of our legal systems?

Then we could implement a education to the next generation, that ENCOURAGES community spirit, selflessness and empathy towards one another, one that teaches self responsibility and reinforces the importance of self governance.

Unfortunately i know that we will NEVER (atleast in ours and our childrens generation) see the day that all our societal problems cease. Because societal problems are integral to this current system.

The technology is totally do-able, with the hardware powering the NSA's datamining info of innocent Americans we could achieve pretty much any goal in that respect.

I like most of what you're suggesting here.

Would it be possible to blockchain voting to make it unhackable?

Removing the oligarch's levers to power is an excellent start. How to keep it from happening again? It's not like this is the first time in history the rich have bought political power.

Lol, blockchain...it sadly doesn't work like that.

You'd most likely use the secure element already present in your phone.

It's a secure chip that is safe (relatively speaking) that can be used to store cryptographic or other information, programs, etc.

You're doing a great job of convincing me that paper ballots are the way to go, for security and verifiability reasons.

'Relatively safe' isn't good enough for this purpose. It has to be rock solid and independently verifiable or trust in the system fails.

While this is no doubt accurate, it remains true that Putin and his cronies are greedily feasting at the trough of Mother Russia, while leaving his People to starve. He's a modern day Tzar, with just as few scruples.

Indeed, very similar to Trump- only Trump is lazy and stupid.
Funny thing...
Back when Yeltsin was fleecing the Russian folk and drinking himself to death and Russia was flailing I said what Russia needs is a new Tzar.

Then came Putin. I am no fan of his, but credit where credit is due... whatever the cost was... he dug Russia out of a deep hole and made it better than it was before.

Now he he is robbing it too.

Holy Shit if he weren't President he'd be a Russian mobster with a McMansion on the south shore of Long Island.
Reality show reject.
He basically is a mobster.

When the Soviet Union collapsed the KGB (FSB) became the baddest mafia on the planet. And Putin took control of it...then Russia too.

It's basically rock solid; to the maximum extent that any technology can be (there's always the chance of breach so using definitives is generally pointless).

The United States government is hands down the baddest mafia in the world. By comparison, the thugs running Russia are second rate pikers.
