those are real cool. i have seen a lot of cool stuff with the 5 & 10 gallon team coolers. i have thought about the 1 or 2 gallon for a mini dwc setup, but havent got to that yet.

It became self-evident that the rear structure of the fridge is a perfect mounting platform for the unit. Here's the pics of the break down of the fridge using a metal cutting blade in my jigsaw.

Now to figure out how to attach it.

Okay so what's with the hole drilled in the side? And is he going to drill another one? WTF? :D Still working.

Oh yes and I do take requests. The girls. 4 Skywalker OG on the left and 2 Blue Dream on the right. Just hanging out in 24/0 250w 78*. I'll get better pics later.

I dunno about the hole, but I'll bet it was fun cuttin' that fridge up.
It was a blast! :)

Had to pick up a few more parts to finish this up and I ain't revealing it until it's done. No more false starts for me! But if this works I hope you guys just SHIT over it! If you look at the picks of the fridge you may be able to guess...except for Gumball. :-P

Forgot to catch you up with more clues. The second hole is cut and now a fan? :twisted: :twisted:

If you have forgotten, this cabinet is built from a COSTCO shelving unit and plywood panels. Even empty (like now) it's heavy! Add to that water and it becomes immobile to drag steel across concrete. So when I was at ACE Hardware I picked up a couple of refrigerator rollers and now my cabinet is moveable! :mrgreen: :joint: :blsmoke:

are the holes going to be where the odd notch in the frig mounts up to?

Some mounting brackets, nuts, bolts and metal screws and viola!




And the notch is for access to the thermo control.




A fully closed loop system! The fan recycles the air through the cooling pan. I'm planning on setting up a cycle timer on the exhaust fans to come on every so often to cycle in fresh air.

So is this cool or what? :D :D

The access to the thermostat was what I couldn't figure out. I saw it would get mounted, but a tube to suck air up was all I could come up with. Very nice. Great creative problem solving. Check out my FrigiDare in my sig link if you get time. Just had the first harvest.:twisted:

This was a busy weekend! Big soccer tournament so I ref'd 7 games!

The ladies are still in their cups barely hanging on. I need to remember to spray them 2 times per day and I missed once. Today I will focus on getting them into their hydro setup.

Now on to the flowering chamber. I'm not getting the same results that I did during my tests. So what's the difference? I've concluded that's it's related to the volume of air I have to cool. Now that the mini-fridge is on the outside I've more than doubled the volume of air I need to cool and now the setup can't keep up.

The good news is that I really don't need to keep the lower part of the cabinet cool so if I can rig up a barrier above the reservoirs, and only cool that part of the chamber, I should get more favorable results.

I've just come up with a really sweet idea to fix this problem using panda film. But in the mean time, can you guys throw out some temp/humidity numbers I should shoot for (max) for a 12/12 flower assuming I can keep water temps between 65 and 70 constant.

Lastly to you CMH guys. What are the average temp drops you have seen between HPS? I have magnetic ballasts and I'm now very close to the balance point of keeping temps under control. It may be the change that tips the scale in my favor! :)

i think i would shoot for no more than 86'ish degrees and 50% humidity, but we know that outside temp and humidity can be more than that. If you know you have adequate air flow then they may be able to stand higher temps and humidity. just always keep in mind outside summer temps. i know its difference, but sometimes nature can tell us all we need to know.

daniels can speak to the HPS and CMH difference, but I dont think it will be enough to help with your temperature situation. he does have a 250 and 400, of both I think. I only have a 100 watt CMH, and never dealt with HPS so no basis.

When I run a temp test I consider over 90 a failure. I run around 85 to 80 on my veg table. All other chambers same range. My humidity stays around 30%. Higher would be better but oh well.
For the CMH's I switched my 400W MH to a HPS then the CMH. Temp drop was most noticeable from MH to HPS. From the HPS to CMH it was noticeable, but slight. I'd say 1 to 3 degree drop. If you have the ballasts and it's just a matter bulbs then go for it. The quality is better IMHO.
I'm switching my flowering chamber from a dual 150W HPS to 400W CMH soon.

Still tuning in the flowering chamber but I'm just hovering at 91* rather than the 103* it hit yesterday.

Here are pictures of one of my Blue Dream babies in her new home! 2" foam insulation covered over with panda film. I'm starting her off in 1.5 gal 58* water (roots aren't touching water yet), with a dose of Sugar Daddy, Root 66, H2O2 at a pH of 5.5. You'll note a bit of LST until I get the screen installed.

Today is Monday so I still have time to meet my Wednesday flowering goal. I might just go ahead and get a CMH bulb locally. Might as well give it a shot.

So you gonna just do the 4 in the coolers? i think you will have better success with the coolers

Actually now I'm convinced to change out the bulb. I'm sitting and wondering what to do and the obvious thing is to try and reduce power input which means go a bit less. Just like daniels is going from 2x150W to 400, I could actually go down to 2x150W but that would be a crapload of work to reset up my cabinet.

Another thing I just realized is I'm running a 430W HPS bulb and not the 400W. That 30W is nearly 10% of added energy. I'm going out now to get a 400W CMH bulb...30W less power pull, better color spectrum (?) and cooler running. Like I said, everything is real close to being perfect. It's like being on the 2 yard line!
