Vipar LED

Amen! In the hands of a capable grower I wonder what the difference really is?

I bought my 900 watt for the equivalent of $250 bucks USD in an online auction... 600 watt was originally $350 but they have dropped down to $199 which to me is a no brainer.

How much does a 900 or 1000 watt high end LED cost? last time I checked they where over $1000.00 so it just seemed silly to spend money like that...

We shall see...time will tell...
I'm with you bro, I'm using even cheaper, even MORE hated lights then you lol. Guess what? THEY WORK! Know how I know?? MY GIRLS ARE GROWING!!!:hump:

ad hominem attack....where is it that they are saying these proclamations, please stick to the topic at hand...The topic is that using 25% efficient diodes without documentation is a lose/lose proposition....Plain and simple, not your love for your fixture....
Am I just too high to articulate my point? Or are the respondents too dumb to understand??

It's not about love, nothing to do with love. They are inanimate objects, they do not gain my "love". It's simply about whether or not they work to grow a plant/weed. Guess what, they do. Either way your point is moot. They work - end of story. Know one cares that you have something better than them, that they grow the plant better. I'll start using the sun and trump all this artificial shit, HA.....come on now.

But please keep up your routine....
The topic is listed as Vipar LED. I only came to this topic because i grow exclusively with Vipar Leds...

my contention is they work well for a budget LED for people trying to grow 1/4 pounds or 1/2 pounds scrogs with limited space. I have backed up this claim with a few pics and hope to prove my hypothosis when this scrog fills in over the next 60 days.

DIY LEDS actually sound awesome... I wasnt aware they where more effective so I thank the boys for this info.

I have nothing agains Kind LEDs... I reccon they would outperform Vipar but I can't afford to spend on them because shipping would kill me.

Thanks ROI Fam!

Yeah well my first indoor grow about 15 years ago was with a halogen shop light, then a mercury vapor security light, then flos and cfl. Guess what? They grew bud too. Lol Doesnt mean that was a good lighting source to stick with. Input, output. That is that matters and where the cheaper lights tend to lack.

And our point is we can and do accomplish those yeilds with 200-300w of higher quality more efficient LEDs.

Again you're missing the point. If someone came along and said your lights are shite and told you of these much better higher quality lights that cost $10 per watt, so your same light equivalent in wattage would be $2k and your yields are only going to improve by about 30%. Is it really worth the investment if you're content with what's working for you? THE POINT IS THE LIGHTS WORK - saying they suck or are shite is implying to those who either don't want to invest in something pricey or cannot afford such equipment that this equipment will not work. At the end of the day, it works and you walk away with smoke.

People are still using vipar/mars/platinum until they buy a Area51 or optic. some think the vipars/Mars/Platinum are good lights, but its because you've never seen a good one work!
Please refer to SnotNozis last comment.

This thread has already been settled.

I believe the Area51 RWs are $2.25 a watt. If someone cant afford the $2.25 a watt! they should stay away from LED for another year or so!
When people make less than that a week or when people pay that a week in mortgage, there's not much room for this hobby. To us that's what this is - A HOBBY. Oh, by the way, I spent 50¢ a watt .... Kinda no brainer.

They usually find out the hard way and after they have burnouts! They also wish they would have spent the extra couple hundred.
