Vipar LED

When people make less than that a week or when people pay that a week in mortgage, there's not much room for this hobby. To us that's what this is - A HOBBY. Oh, by the way, I spent 50¢ a watt .... Kinda no brainer.
bro the comment above about cost per watt was pointing out that its 50¢ a watt (your calculation) because youre counting all those useless heat watts as dissipated watts.

I used mars 900 for a bunch of grows and it most def will grow flowers. But it does not approach the growing/flowering power of the 360 watt optic vero.

the optic was about 150$ more than the mars at the time i purchased.

So when you say your vipar is 900w is it actually ? seems a lot for a 2 by 2, and doesn't look to be 900w
Have you measured it from the wall ?

Still, glad you are happy with it, as thats all that counts, being as its yours.

You grow with what is available to you, or what works. Why are there so many assholes on here who can't admit that something someone else is doing is good regardless of how much better there own grow is going. You can grow better, we get it. I'm happy with my China LED's that everyone says are shit, guess what - THEY GROW WEED! - isn't this the main point? What's wrong with people??
Good for you. Since there are cheaper and more effective lights, I can say that these lights are shit. Asshole is a person who recommends this light.
I can't see any point using them. A HPS of equal wattage would produce better results and less heat with the advantage of being cheaper.

Vipar wants you to think it replaces a 900watt equal hps replacement. First thing these type of companies try to do to get u to buy there product. A 2x2 should need no more than 160 watts from the wall! PERIOD.... When its quality!!

Spend the extra cash to buy a quality unit! And what pisses me off about these junker companies? They go on amazon and ebay and put all these 5 star reviews up! Then you go to the 1 star and see the truth! Mostly burnouts! Ooh ooh that smell! cant u smell that smell! A vipar and platinum burning up!

Amen! In the hands of a capable grower I wonder what the difference really is?

I bought my 900 watt for the equivalent of $250 bucks USD in an online auction... 600 watt was originally $350 but they have dropped down to $199 which to me is a no brainer.

How much does a 900 or 1000 watt high end LED cost? last time I checked they where over $1000.00 so it just seemed silly to spend money like that...

We shall see...time will tell...
Are your LEDs pulling 900 and 600 from the wall or is that just the name of them cuz I know they use about half of what they say so they will last longer they wouldn't last very long if they actually pulled what they said they were from the wall. I have a 4x2 600w vipar but it only pulled 300 from the wall. It's does pretty decent grows I wouldn't say they're super good but decent is what I would say. My 110w DIY 4 cree cxa 3070 AB bin cob light that I just built is doing just as good and it's using more than half of the wattage of my vipar is. So in my thought vipar is ok and goes decent grows for a cheaper LED panel for people just getting into LEDs but there a lot better panels it there that you can buy or buy parts and make your self.

Again you're missing the point. If someone came along and said your lights are shite and told you of these much better higher quality lights that cost $10 per watt, so your same light equivalent in wattage would be $2k and your yields are only going to improve by about 30%. Is it really worth the investment if you're content with what's working for you? THE POINT IS THE LIGHTS WORK - saying they suck or are shite is implying to those who either don't want to invest in something pricey or cannot afford such equipment that this equipment will not work. At the end of the day, it works and you walk away with smoke.
Again you're missing the point. So let's look at this. $350 for a 900w vipar. I paid $450 for my xgs. $100 more. Yet if that light draws 900w at 12 cents a kilowatt and twelve hours a day with 710 difference that's a good $30 difference in cost each month in electricity for the same outcome just. Run the lights for afull year and your paying almost$400 more just to run the cheaper light. Even if it's 450W actual draw at the wall that's still going to cost $150 more to run than the more expensive light. The light pays for itself.

Firstly, read my last point. This is why I posted on this forum in the first place, to get this point across. If you're talking about my lights specifically then you need to have your facts straight. My light is 54W and cost $22 for two of them. This is why I am a strong advocate for the cheap lights. Is there quality issues? Fuck ya there is but I didn't get those issues. All I see is the visible proof that my plants are thriving more so then my previous grow. This means they are working better than the lights I used previously, just in case you didn't catch that. This also means that they WORK because my plant is actually growing under the light that is being provided.
As far as cost per month, you're talking $49/mnth or $583/yr for these babies. Yours cost you $450 and run at a cost of $65/mnth and $778/yr @300W pull. So you spent $1228 this year were I spent only $605.....Each additional year, if prices theoretically stayed the same, will cost you $173 more then me and further to my point, even if we stretched it to a ten year spread and I had to buy two new lights every year for the next ten years at the same price of $22 for two. And we assume you only need to by one replacement at $450. Even then you would spend $8680 to my $6050.

So I ask again, what are you trying to disprove???

Exactly...

If you can't afford premium LEDS buy a hps

A Ferrari isn't necessary but neither is a scooter
Really this is your reply.....Well we know you the thick ones are..... even an HPS setup is way more expensive than what I'm doing now. There are cheap alternatives one can use that GROW marijuana. Even a scooter can get you from A to B. It can be quite fun too, especially when riding down the coast of Cuba!!:hump:

Put it on a kill a watt before you call that lightbulb a 54w grow light.

So how much was the shipping...ali doesn't ship stuff for free

My bad..they do ship free by e packet

But its also 1 for $20 not 2..

So this is what you recommend over a small hps?
