Same here! Folks talk like we can’t get a bud to smoke. Northern Lights auto. I have already chopped two green crack autos and filled 6 quart jars with delicious bud!

You guys are missing the point. Viparspectra does grow bud. Any light will grow bud. For 100$ more you could have easily maximized your lighting potential. You asked the question and got the responses. People don't like them. You guys do because they are growing bud. You're happy with what you get. When you actually try for more you will need more. You should also be running both Bloom and Veg switched or all dimmers to 100% during veg and flower. There is too much blue otherwise

yes weve known that cheap LEDs can grow HQ pot for over a decade now
doesnt necessarily mean cheap LEDs should be considered as a valid option when in many cases HIDs are cheaper and more efficient than many of them

You're running almost 1,500w of blurple in that space. At current Amazon prices, that's just over $1,000. You could put together a build with twelve 4' double-row F-Series Samsung strips, four HLG-320H-48A drivers, and some U-channel aluminum (for heatsinks) for about the same cost.
No one will dispute that you can grow weed with that setup, but you could do much better with 1,200w of COBs, QBs, or strips.
I'm thinking it could be equaled with about 800w of quality LED?

I'm thinking about the size of his grow space. At 5'x8', I wouldn't want less than 1,200w.

I use viparspectra and can’t say anything bad about them.
I think a mistake a lot of people make is buying from amazon rather than the supplier itself. You might get a knock off :/
Sure I could buy something even better, but it works for me, and they’re pretty energy efficient. My power bill barely moved.
Use what’s best for you, but I think for beginners to intermediate growers, they’re a great value. When I’m ready to step it up maybe I’ll get something else.

Yes but I know there are better red spectrum LEDs out there, I figured as a first time light it would be fine to get into the hobby, and it has been. I’m learning a lot about growing in general.
I’ll step it up when I’m ready. But I wouldn’t call these lights garbage, they’ve done me well.

Even for the same price there are better lights, you wouldn't even need to step up. Tbh, viparspectra is pretty expensive, mars hydro and meizhi are a better choice for a blurple light at half the price.

Viparspectra uses way too much blue in their spectrum for vegging imo. If you have the dimmer options turn all them them all the way up, or put both the bloom and the veg light on throughout the whole grow, you will see better results.

I got into viparspectra going off 420mag and high times, they said they were ideal for beginners, and a beginner is what I am lol

Yea but those magazines are for advertisers. All one needs to do is contact high times, pay a price, and they will say whatever you want them to say. A couple years ago viparspectra had a big problem with diodes burning out even after just one grow, seems they have fixed the problem. But like most people when I went looking for a grow light I read reviews on amazon, and that's not a good thing to base a product off of. As most reviews on amazon are paid, or just people saying they have received the product. But if it works for you, great.

Seriously, Viparspectra led are not suitable to grow, they have too much Blue lights, they got the problem of low yields!
