water amount for plugs

I did a search and only found info on ph levels not water levels, so my question is...Besides keeping water in the bottom of the tray, do I need to water the plug from the top? I just put germinated seeds in there, and it's my first time to use plugs and a tray. Last time I used jiffy pots. I just don't want to over or under water. Will the plug pull enough water from the bottom to keep the seed happy?

Yeah the cubes will automatically get the proper water / air ratio if water is kept in the bottom. Change the water if it sits too long, helps on mold.
