well i thought i should share this with you folks. i harvested one of my plants early, 2 weeks early so i could expieriment with water cure method. i chopped my plant and put in into a ice cream bucket with clean drinkin water and changed the water every day for 7 days. the buds got real dark and the smell went away. it is a pretty smooth smoke. smoothest i ever tasted. i wouldnt recommend this to anyone if they care about smell, taste and looks of the bud. but other then that i think im gonna start air curing 50% of my harvest and the other half water cure.

yea i know pic sucks

i chopped the plant down weeks before it riped. the high was nice. never had to smoke more than a bowl to get high. but the high wouldve been better if i waited for the plant to ripe.

did you use a dehydrator?

i let mine air dry in front of a fan for 2 days and it didn't turn out good. it tasted like shit so i threw the plant away.

to date i have never heard a great report on water cure. the closest i have gotton to water cure is getting the buds wet.

It just sounds like it works. Doesn't sound like anything to rave about, I might try considering I do have a dehydrator with a temp control on it. But thanks for the report man!

no i didnt use a dehydrator. i put my buds in front of a fan for a coupla hours. what i have noticed about my water cured bud is that it burns slower.

good Lord that's a shitty picture! lol j/k man it don't matter. but yeah I plan on water curing and burp curing as well. see which one I like best.

How was your water & odor during the cure?

I'm on my seventh day of the water cure. I have had no odor to speak of & my water may have gotten a little bit green but other than that it was clear. A totally stealth cure. I just hope it worked--I had expected all types of odor & filmy dirty water. Maybe the hydrophonic grow with the AeroGarden is cleaner? It makes me nervous getting so little sediment.
I'll take pics of the buds when I finish the cure.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Peace, O2

If it tasted like shit after drying it for just two days its because it was chalk full of chlorophyll. Curing your bud is what you do to get rid of that chlorophyll. The chlorophyll, over time in an airsealed environment, slowly breaks down and turns from chlorophyll into more basic sugars. Curing is a MUST if you want anything remotely enjoyable.

I think the flavor is a huge part of what makes pot enjoyable.
Much the same as the bouquet of good wine, I would suppose.

The water cure sounds good if you want a mellow tasting, odorless smoke
But this is at the expense of complexity and character of the herb.

i actruallyt think water curing is good for bring it with you on planes since the smell is now gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
