Watering while using trellis?

Hey everyone I know this may be a basic question but I’m always looking for more efficient ways to do things. So currently I have a trellis on my plants in a 2x4 grow tent but I water my plants in my bathtub so water doesn’t get everywhere and can drain. (I let them sit in the tub for about 30 minutes draining and then I put them back in the tent). This requires me to constantly remove them from the trellis and them put them back and reposition them.

As they get larger this will become difficult as I’m not going to be able to easily move the plants from under the trellis that they’re gonna be growing into. Plus I don’t want to always disturb them and be bumping leaves around etc as They’re budding more now. Is there a better way to water in a tent with a trellis without having to remove plants from the tent?

idea 1 : just use a lot less water when watering so that there is minimum runoff on the tent floor. This might require more frequent watering but seems best. Only problem I can think of is when it comes to needing to flush the plants.

Idea 2: place a tote inside the tent and then place the plant buckets inside the tote. That way I can water without worrying about run off and spillage. The trade off is that there will be stagnant water in the tote which could lead to overwatering issues and a rise in humidity levels I would think. I know with the heat from the light would probably cause evaporation but it would probably be slow.

if any of you use a trellis net in a grow tent, how do you water your plants? This isn’t a topic that’s touched on at all when I do searches and it should be explored.

A tray, something to lift the pots off the tray, and a wet vac (optional, towels can do the same thing)

The pot risers you could easily DIY. There are hydro specific trays closer to 2x4 but they are 3-4 times more expensive than that one.

Check out Tropf Blumat. They are like a carrot shaped moisture sensor you set in your container that gives a regulated drip of water. You can run the water lines with just gravity fed from a bucket or a hose with a pressure reducer. The drippers and carrots can be set up for multiple plants. They water automatically for a week at a time or longer with no runoff if you set them up properly and requires no power.
Another option is like you say put a bigass tray or something under the plants to catch runoff. The big plus is that you can water from the bottom this way as well.

thanks. I ordered a big ass tray like someone else suggested also for runoff and I’ll use towels as needed for runoff.

I'm super tired after a long day and a couple drinks with a dad and his daughter at the bar....

Do you want to read the SIP (Sub-Irrigated Planter) thread?
https://www.rollitup.org/t/sip-thread-sub-irrigated-planter.904886/

Check out sips, easiest lowest tech way of growing. The link above will get you started! I switched over to them and will never grow without them. Your plants always stay perfectly watered and all you have to do is fill a reservoir ever so often. A nice feature about sips is you can see exactly how much water your plants are drinking.

Remember what Bill Gates says, "I give the toughest job to the laziest person because they will find the easy way to do it."
