We Are All Brothers; True or False?

This is a quote from Dr. George Washington Carver:

"We are brothers, all of us, no matter what race or color or condition; children of the same Heavenly Father. We rise together or we fall together."

What do you think about this statement? What about the fact that it came from a man who went from being a slave to a humanitarian/innovator/philosopher? bongsmilie

I disagree with this statement, not because I don't believe in brotherhood, but because I've been backstabbed by a lot of people who were supposed to be my brothers.

At some point in the past...The mother of all of us...walked out of S. Africa. We are all genetic relatives.
We are brothers.

True in everywhich way there is! , Roseman, I highly respect you,
I have a lot more to say,,,but I'm high and shy at the time being, your my hero, a beer bellied grey haired beer drinking pot smoking hippy lovin' life, mutha....Just wanted to say, Peace.

i neighbor is i brother, treat ure neighbor as u would treat ure saviour, love with ure mind and think with ure heart, and al1 will be love yall,.,.,who feels it knows it,.,.,.,.,.im not your brother in the hulk hogan sort tho,.,lol

I wouldn't say that, because what comes from your mind is a illusion, and the illusion of your beliefs is not a illusion, but a reality so realithy is an illusion for you , in this case brogherood. But no, reality is not a thought.

Vivid dreams aren't "reality", but they seem real though. If it's just a dream, why do material things seem real in them?

They are just thoughts right?

I definatly believe in the quote man!!! at least the "We are brothers, all of us, no matter what race or color or condition" part unless they're assholes.. lol

IMO we all share this planet and were all human... LEARN TO FUCKN GET ALONG lol. No seriously... Im very tollerant of others and theyre beliefs as long as no-one gets hurt... but back to the point: yeah were all brothers, unfortunately were locked in a deadly sibling rivalry.

It's a nice quote and we all did come from the same ancestors but you're all to busy bible thumping to see that the focus of the quote wasn't about god.

Also just for the record when you say something like "MURDERERS, GAYS, THIEVES, AND REALLY ANYONE as my brothers and sisters; like Jesus accepted the thief on the cross."

It doesn't play well in my head how you seem to credit yourselves for being super open minded and friendly to anyone (murderers and theives even) but you think gays fits with those two? And it's a zionist jew you blame what on? And those that don't accept god or whatever aren't your brothers then either but deserve the torture of being blabbed at to be converted?

Don't pat yourselves on the back too much, you completely missed how condescending and judgemental and narrow minded and bigoted you actually really are.

OM the author actually used the term "Heavenly Father" in the quote:

"We are brothers, all of us, no matter what race or color or condition; children of the same Heavenly Father. We rise together or we fall together."

I like to think that it means we are all a part of the HUMAN RACE... in the bigger concept of all the universe, time, and everything.. we should stick together just a pack of zebras or whatever.. *don't believe in "aliens"* or stick together as members of the same planet with the same basic goal: to have our species SURVIVE..

Humans have become too spoiled with tachnology and laziness... we've all forgotten the big picture.
