One of my plants just sprouted and it's only maybe quarter to half inch up and it's got what looks like spider webs all over it. Is that natural or should I do what I can to get those off there?

Spider MITES!!! Post a pic!
Shit, I was hoping those wouldn't become an issue until the plants were at least bigger than a few inches... should I just toss that plant before they get into the others(the seed hasn't even removed itself from the top and it looks like it might be kinda stuck there..

I dont have expertese in spidermite issues. And i dont want to tell you to chuck the plant also it could be and actual spider web. Id need to see pic of the area-like and what the webs look like. But what you should do is google and see how they could be prevented or stopped. Are all your plants together? Outdoors or what?

Indoors and I can't really take a pic, soon as you mentioned spider mites I used a toothpick to clear away the web.

is that a turd next to it?
Most likely not. I really do need to know what is causing that(the mold/fungi) though and if the plant can be saved. I've realized that the dirt in all the plants is holding water really well, like almost too well, I watered them 3 days ago and they've hardly lost any weight. In retrospect I would add purlite to the starter soil if I was to do this again. Not sure if the dirt holding onto the water too long has anything to do with the fungi/mold but thought I'd bring it up anyways.

Depends on the soil
What brand are you using ? Whatever your using looks kinda funky.
I'd go buy half way decent grow soil and start over.
But yeah the longer it's wet the more likely fungi / mold will appear.
If you are using soil out of your yard or garden I can see where it comes from.

Best bet is just get some decent soil and start over.

IMG_0273.JPG That's the stuff I'm using, it's not exactly yawn/yard soil although I think it'd do a lot better with some perlite.

Grown in kitty litter haha.
Sorry, I had to!

Anyways back to the fuzz....I would think the environment might be a factor in the fuzz growth as well. Humidity and temps have everything to do with growing from seedling. Keep your temps in check at around 70-78*F and your humidity around the 50% mark. You can make up an old school remedy mix of milk water and lightly spray the affected area. I believe the mix is 80/20 Water/Milk. I've never used it personally, but have read many times on many different forums that this is a good remedy and readily available to most everyone. Good luck!

It will make the area smell like rotten milk tho.

Oddly all the plants have the same environment and yet only that one got the mold/fungi issue. Mind you 3 of them haven't even spouted but the 4-5 that have look pretty healthy so far.
