definitely possible need close ups for correct identification i kinda feel like i can see reddish heads in the pics like hypos have but cant say for sure. got some other mite pics in the thread courtesy of the members of our community too. its not just about hypoaspis though that was the initial purpose of the thread i just hate them being decimated because people think they have a dangerous infestation or something.
Correct ID’s are the starting point and to get that you are correct that close up pictures are best.

One of the reasons I took a liking to entomology was just in case I find anything in my own area that I can identify fairly quickly what they are.

yeah dont get me wrong when i say people decimate perfectly harmless or even beneficial creatures because theyre afraid, i feel the urge to do so from time to time too haha

whenever i see something i dont know, thunders are running down my spine. then before doing anything in panic i take a close up pic and try to identify. because organic soil is not truly organic without higher life forms imho and most things in there are actually beneficial :)

I’m a coco grower so anything in my coco is an invader and if they’re good guys I try to make it so there are less of them without taking harsh routes to rid them.

oh yeah thats a different story with coco and chemical nutes. still hypoaspis wouldnt hurt anything but the gnat larvae and stuff haha
