So here's some pics of my two week old girls. I was hoping to get some opinions on how they're looking. They are currently under fluorescent lights. (Not sure wattage but I attached a pic of those too) my tents temp is 84 degrees, I'm not giving them any nutes yet because the guy at the hydro store said that the soil I'm using has enough to get them through veg. I water once a day. Is that enough? I have a 600watt hps I'm gonna use for flowering but was wondering if I should use it for veg as well. If so when should I switch? These two are my only survivors so I wanna make sure I don't make any more mistakes.

More tubes, more tubes! And if you're watering before the soil has dried out a bit on top then you're watering too much by the sound of it.
In some bigger pots and more suitable lighting it could be very soon when you'll have to fire that 600w baby up...and then you're cooking!

They look solid. If you are going to flowert with a 600w I would get them in at lest a 2 gallon (nc2) pot. But like the post above me more tubes!!!! And stay with cool white. And higher watt

I plan on transplanting into a 3 gal pot but I'm not sure when the right time to do that is. More tubes isn't really an option at this point, so what would u suggest as an alternative? Thanks for the feedback!!!!

I you hit em with everything at once. They'll shoot up like mo fu's... What I mean is, transplant into harvesting pot, give some nutes, and that 600.. They'll love you.

They look pretty small for 2 weeks. But, you expect that from cfls.
How you determine on when to hit up with the real set up, is just wait till they loath those cups, than transplant and do your thing :cool:

How do I tell when they "loath" these cups? Should I put some more soil in the cups now, before I transplant?

What I would do, is put place soil all the way up to the youngest leaves and the stem will turn into roots that way. but they look healthy, and keep up the good work. If your gonna place the 600 on them start from a distance.

Its just a guess cause it looks like a male being tall as where the other is more bushy.Gently add more soil on the bottom one before the stem breaks.I hope im wrong for you Tho.After you have grown for a long time males are preety easy to spot,But i didnt grow those so i just took a look and it looks like a male.

I use solo cups also and vegg under a T5Ho,with FFOF soil and after a month most strains are needing a bigger container,Because of being rootbound.When you get ready to transplant dont water for a day or two and they slide RT out with no stress to the plant.

Fill up to the colys,Never ever heard of a stem turning into a root!Roots turn into stems...... IS the 600 a MH or HPS the hps will make more heat,and more lumens.So make sure they have a good rootball under em and a min of a 3-4vegg weeks before getting tht 600 to close.

They'll hate the pots when their roots can't grow anymore in them. If you want, put more soil in them. You're gonna use the soil again once you repot anyways.. It doesn't really matter

People veg with HPS all the time. As Lon as their not boiling under the light. They'll eat the light up like a African kid at a buffet

Some beach- stems grow roots when placed under soil for to long. Just like a cutting grows roots at the bottom. Difference is the stems not split. So it does take longer JSYK

Unfortunatly it's a hps. I accidentally broke my MH. They're currently two weeks and your saying in a week or two I should switch from my fluorescent tubes to my hps?

I most definitely don't need someone to tell me when to wipe my ass and im well aware that its up to me and i can do what i want. Im trying to eliminate any error so im asking ppl with more experience their opinions. For the record, you're asking a question to which you already have the answer too. No one has the same grow room, so yeah you can take advice, and do what other people do, but in reality you gotta find out what's best for you and your environment. I answered your question, if you wanna do it. Do it!! Alot of people veg with HPS. If you wanna try it out, go for it!!

if you are going to veg longer then get more daylight cfl's on it. that way your dont run up your electric bill using hps for 18 hours. go to home depo or walmart and look for daylight compact floresences. not the warm thats for flowering. just buy a socket and wire it yourself if you go to home depo its easy
