What do you do when you grow too much weed?

There are millions of people with cancer &/or chronic pain. I wish there was an easy way to connect these growers overages to the people in need.

I started growing for this reason. I had no connections nor any idea where to go & I wasn't interested in the insanely expensive/limited "tincture" legal medicine available.

2 other people in my immediate family are battling cancer right now too & are waiting for the medicine I'm growing. In the meantime I got everyone hooked up with CBD. Fortunately I should have some flower soon.

Anyway, when I harvest extra, I'm definitely going out of my way to find people in need. Maybe I'll chill in the Cancer Institute parking lot after appointments with a cannabis-leaf hat & shirt 8-)

When my father-in-law had cancer years ago and we set off to treat him with RSO, my wife when door-to-door to all of the local dispensaries asking for donations, while I hit up big growers I know via text message. In a day, I came home with around 5 pounds of donated trim, and she came home with a zip of donated bho. Ask around.

I have jars full of buds that are mostly 10ish years old. My eyes were bigger than my lungs. It's all brown and smells bad. No mold but still. Gonna have to dump it, no good to smoke any more

This is exactly why the market has crashed in legal States. Anybody can grow it, and they usually make too much, and just give it away, or barter it for services or other products. (guilty) Not complaining anymore since we just got out of the commercial biz, but one day when they have enough legal States, then they lift it Federally we can ship to other States. It would be nice to see coop's in different hubs that would take in your excess for those who can't grow, or afford thier meds, or more importantly, cancer patients. As of right now, the METRC, and seed to sale GPS tracking makes it impossible to "donate". Well, I suppose you could sell it for a penny, but what a pain in the ass, and you can't ship, or deliver outside of your legal State.

.... but then again, im sure there will be regulations on testing before donating. No heavy metals or pesticides, even processors can't product extracts with a certain level of either. So, really you would be donating with money that it costs to have it tested. Current batch testing around here is ~$340 for a Full Compliance.

Im in a legal state, med only for grows though. I have zero issue moving mine. My people have demanding jobs or kiddos so they dont/cant grow. My business model was to have dispo quality (or better) nug for half the price. Working just fine so far, demand is outpacing supply every run. I spent too much on my equipment, genetics, etc to just give it away, so i give beyond reasonable prices.

No such thing as to much. Just like u cant have to much money. If u not growing for commercial use then u should give away all that u can't possibly consume. I give away about 4 zips a month. Trade 2 zips smoke 2 zips. On a perpetual harvest so I like growing new strains and having multiple variety at all times. I got friends and family saving hundreds of dollars. Kinda feels gd.

Full blown federal legalization will probably be the true nail in the coffin for a decent black market, the day theres Costco sized warehouses of plants scattered throughout every major city and prices dip nationwide to historical lows is when things will be truly over. The demand for good weed in midwest places like Indiana and Wisconsin and certain southern states is pretty high, they still have crazy archaic laws and a thriving black market.

It continues to amaze me that the market really doesnt seem to value quality vs marketing and trendy "new" strains.

I know which cultivators have the better quality but I have yet to see a true craft grower that goes the extra mile, charges for it and has a following.

I think that is the real future, but right now cost is king and people are happy enough getting pretty buds.
