What do you do with your stems and fan leaves after harvest?

Safe disposal is important in places where growing activities are not 100% in line with the legal status of certain plants. So...how do you dispose of the excess plant matter?

Since it's winter, I have been drying the excess and using it for kindling in my wood stove. Works great!

Turn that stuff into dabs!!!, quit throwing away top notch stuff man. In fact i would rather do dabs than smoke weed..lol. Just about the whole plant contains thc. Let the leaves "not stems" completely dry out "takes about two weeks to dry out", then fill a blender halfway full of 90% rubbing alcohol "walmart" stuff it with your dry leaves and let her rip. Get a coffee filter and pour that awesome green nector through the coffee filter onto a glass pan and let it dry for about two days. Get a razor blade and scrape off the awesome goodness. FYI. its easier to scrape a warm plate than a cold one. I put my glass plate in the oven on warm for a few minutes before scraping it. I cant believe you been throwing out the best part and using it for compost, man i wish i was your neighbor.

Lmao. He said fan leaves.

Please do not make concentrates that way ^^^^^ the alcohol needs to be distilled like butane with bho. It still needs to be purged in a vacuum oven like bho.

That way ^^^^^ produces dirty concentrates.

When using alcohol for concentrates it needs to be 200 proof too.

I use fan leaves in fact i even used yellow leaves with awesome results. You can use 70% rubbing alcohol it just takes a little longer to dry up. Ive been doing this for years, Ive even made dabs from ground up stems.

"fan leaves do contain THC. I've made batches of canna butter with dried out trim that had been in a paper grocery bag for months and it came out potent!" This is from the net.. Look it up yourself, They have plenty of instructions on how to turn it into butter, dabs, and etc.

Compost, I love the fact that the left overs from the plants end up feeding the next generation. Circle of life and shit.
I did that for a couple years. When i got my soil tested the consultant said to stop because my P and K were off balance. Nowi burn as well. At least until next soil test.

Lmao all anecdotal. . No pics of anything . Just talk. I've seen concentrates made from roots. But they are not able to dab at all. Grinding up fan leaves doesn't make kief. It makes leaf powder. Again you need trichomes to make a dabbable melty product.

I know a few old cats who smoke fan leaves in a joint. But I'd never do it. I compost all fan leaves.

It takes longer dry you still need to distill the alcohol and purge to remove chemical solvents

Wish you all lived around my place, I would gladly take your fan leaves off your hands.

The only chemical solvent i use is alcohol, nothing else.

You're using isopropyl not ethanol. Iso is highly toxic. Even if using ethanol you still need to purge to remove all alcohol. It won't all evaporate.

There's several other harmful chemicals in iso alcohol as well.

You can use any type of alcohol, if you are worried about chemicals you can use everclear from any liquor store, it doesnt take much maybe half a cup will do. It will all evaporate in fact what is left is a small thin film that you scrape up with a razor blade. If you are still worried just leave it out in the sun for a few hours, just as long as the temp doesnt go past 275 you will be alright.
