What happened to ChilLED?

I was expecting to be seeing some great things from Vitaly and Gromau5 by now. They promised to keep up with the updates and seemed to be gung-ho to go with their new collaboration. But it's been months and I haven't seen a word.

I have always admired both those guys and their lighting ideas. I sure hope they haven't hit a loggerhead.

They are a bit pricey vs. alternatives.

I realize this^^^...but I'm still curious as to what happened to the company and all the stuff they were talking about....I've seen basically nothing....ChiLED is like a ghost town....no website updates...no YouTube updates...no posts here or anywhere....curious

Man...I wonder who is ordering them? I wonder what the popular models of their lights are....I wonder what they are working on for the future....Is that all on Instagram, too? I'm not a subscriber.

Checkout their website they just came out with some cool diy kits that come with pre built connectors. Gromau5 just had a video for them a few weeks ago

yeah they havent done shit since the quick connect system and the diy 500w kit thats sold out now. They are working on that quick connect hub joint that can run boards, cobs, ect all on one joint. Otherwise yeah I haven't heard anything either. That 500w kit really brought them into the same price as every other 1kw replacement LED too, I hope they come back in stock.

GrowMau5 did a youtube live stream last week but had to delete the video as he accidentally posted his real name. Follow him on Instagram, he does live streams quite often. He did one on potentiometers recently. He also explained a lot of what was going on at work and what's coming up.
Cheers

Nice! However....Aren't fan-cooled designs a thing of the past? I'm seeing everything becoming passively cooled.
I agree. personally I think the cases and fans make the chilled lights look kind of awkward.. bulky.. outdated.. I know they are top of the line lights, not hating on chilled, just some constructive criticism... while I'm at it though, I'm also not a fan of the size and shape of the chilled pcbs. at 125W (?) max, I wish the diodes were spread out over a larger surface area.. I also wish everyone would just use square pcbs.. are we not all trying to light some number of square feet (or square meters)?... with led the choices are cobs, strips, or boards.. I don't see any reason for boards to be any shape other than square.. with round cobs, linear strips, or square boards you could light any space you needed to.. right? is the rectangular shape of quantum boards, chilled boards, photon fantom boards, etc by design or just totally arbitrary? the rectangles have always bothered me.. there I said it.. feels good to get that off my chest

Any updates on grows with these Chilled gen 2 lights?

I have gotten more curious about the finishing times, and overall quality increases, especially after reading all those 80cri vs 90cri treads....

Chilled = 3000K, + a lot of red, + blue and UVA. Do they finish faster? Any noticable differences in quality compared to 90cri white light?
Vitaly stated they are tuned for flower. So what happens in real life if you flower them 'all channels full on'?
Is it really tuned that well out of the box?
Here's the part again where Vitaly goes into detail about his design and how much of which colour he uses and why:
A quantum board vs Chilled side by side grow would be interesting to see!

just dreaming

ChiLED are very good at what they do. Possibly the best.
Their engineering is superior to most every other vendor.
They got caught up in the details. They wanted perfection. People are not willing to pay for perfection. People buy cheap Chinese shit. Real shit. The charlatan Chinese vendors lie their asses off. People believe they are told they can buy a grow light that consumes 130 wall watts and it provides light equivalent to a 1000W HPS.
Those details were very expensive to develop.
Reminds me of Steve Jobs and his NeXt Cube.

I don't blame the people. Education is required.
For example, there are too many good ol' boys on this site that perpetuate these lies.

I have run three 90w boards in a 2x4 tent for six months. I like them, a bit pricey, but still nice. I replaced them two months ago with three GrowGreen 100w boards and happier. I am not into quick connect systems, I do my own, Now the 90w boards is being touted as a 125w board with a 320H driver instead of a 120H driver or two on a 185H driver.

I still have the three ChilLed 90w boards packed away on custom heat sinks; HSUSA.com; slightly used, but well appreciated.
