So, rookie here...
Mixed up some nutes (fox farms 6-4-4, can't remember name but it's the vegetative nute) about 7 days ago and let them sit under sink counter (cool, dark space). Watered plant and fed about 1/4 gallon of them to the plant. Left and was gone for about 24 hours, when I came back to my horror there were brown spots all over my fan leaves, the ends were curling down hard on some leaves but not all, the newest growth on the plant doesn't seem to be affected at all... Also gave a treatment of 3/4 teaspoon neem oil dawn dish soap dilluted in 2 cups of water right before feeding (i had about 99% of the mixture left). I basically went into panic mode, did about 2 hours of research and settled on flushing the plant with about 2 gallons water with no nutes. I also chopped off one of the most damaged fan leaves at top of plant which was likely stupid but it was in the roughest shape. My logic was that the plant would not wast energy trying to repair that leaf. Still have about 7 leaves looking really rough.
Backstory... bag seed that I believe to be super old. Started outside and then moved it inside once I saw it was a female with only minor issues. Plant seemed to be in shock for 2-3 days but recovered and the biggest issue is what I believed to be spider mites from the white dots on my plant. Plant is approximately 7 weeks old and about 16in. tall. I topped it about a week ago and new stems are growing. The plant was growing slowly from the beginning which is why I think the seed is super old and my main stalk is super thin but has about 15 fan leaves on it. Growing in a 1 gallon pot in fox farms happy frog potting soil in a grow tent under 300w full spectrum LED. Humidity and temp controlled by a decent vent setup. Have a fan on the plant canopy at all times to circulate air. Lighting is 18-6...
I thought it was nute burn at first but after reading I'm wondering if it's just a ph imbalance from the unfresh nute mix. Or both? I'm also wondering about the neem oil. It's 100% pure neem oil which I dilluted as mentioned above. Should I just abandon ship on this plant or is there still hope? Did I take the right steps... ahhhh so many questions and I'm super bummed about doing this to my first lil baby
Any help is appreciated!
