What if it's the Palestinians who are the REAL Hebrews from the religious books?

No uncle buck, this issue is about a people, we all know how this ends. In political season, we in the US have much more important to discuss than the bloodlines of two tribes. It really is not political, all this is going to do is turn into a heated argument that everyone will say has no place here, and I promise will lead to a bunch of new sigs for nodrama lol.
i didn't consult the Spirituality mods. Hope i didn't just dump a headache on them :bigjoint:

i personally think that if ANY sections mods can handle this thread it would be Spirituality & Philosophy. Don't know how they do it. :)

Anyhow, please be civil guys ;)

It was posted in politics and some members requested it be moved here. i guess i know what your opinion is on the topic lol.

If the Spirituality mods don't want it here, please feel free to either ask me to move it back or move it on your own. No disrespect intended.

My thoughts exactly. This is a poorly veiled attempt at a shouting match. Sorry if this is not the place.
Wow! Intemperance and the ability to discuss topics intelligently seem to be a forgone conclusion on this one. Why not just remove the political and religious forumns alltogether since it's assumed discussion can't occur without discord and for whatever reason that seems to suddenly be something to be avoided at all costs here? After all, politics and religion are among if not the formost passion filled topics in existence. The forums exist, the topic arguably has basis in either and has been listed. Let it do what it do! If you don't want to be a part of the discussion don't take part but give those who may want to do so the opportunity to without having to filter through a bunch of quibbling about whether or not you personally happen to to think it belongs where it is, was or whatever. Noone has to visit this thread if they don't want to. The title is clear and utterly self explanatory. If you don't want to constructively take part (it's really simple) choose not to, don't walk into the store you don't want to patronize. Don't buy the bag you don't want to smoke.

Good post. They reconstructed a Jesus Era face/head from arch. recovered skeletons (http://faithinfocus.wordpress.com/2008/09/09/jesus-what-is-the-archaeological-evidence/) Go to minute 7:00 in the video for the final face construction. I would ascribe as a Palastinian, than a Jew. If you do a general google search for Jesus face image, you will find the baloney story on the Shroud of Turin. Most evidence points that this was the burial shroud of The Knights Templar leader Jacques de Molay, which I think is more likely than Jesus. The SoT fits for people's pre-concieved image of Jesus over the last 1,500 years, so they like to believe that. You have to do your own research and decide FYS.

I always think it's crazy when people fight over land. In our last 3,000 to 5,000 years, it was all about conquering to enslave the people and add their resources back to the "Motherland" (Rome, Greece, GB, etc.)
But it puzzles me with Israel and that land b/c whenever all the killing and bombing is over, whoever is left (Jews and Palestinians) will just start mixing together and a single race will exist there in peace(caveat here is that race is a terrible term, we are all the same humans, just different tans and geography, rant for another time). That to me is the reason so many people are anti-religious, because they see how it brings out the absolute worst actions/behavior in humans against each other. The whole tenant of Judaism and Christianity is Love and Peace, and Golden Rule stuff. Islam is based on both Judeo-Christan religions, so I would say those are central tenants of Islam. Even if you do not believe in the God part of religion, you can understand that these are good ways to live for the happiness of all.

So why are they fighting and killing over this tiny ass piece of land? One quote I like is, "There will only be peace in the Holy Land when Palestinians begin to Love their children more than they hate the Jews." There is a lot of truth in that. I know the US is biased towards supporting Israel the state, and that Israel has purpotrated a lot of bad shit on the basically homeland-less Palistines, so it is hard for most Americans to understand the exact Tit-for-Tat that is going on and has been going on for like 5,000 years.

Sorry for the long-ass rant, I get wound up sometimes. Peace out :bigjoint:

While i believe that there are some political aspects to this discussion, i also believe that this belongs in the Spirituality forum. i've never moved a thread but i will see what i can do.

I don't see where it would fit in Spirituality any better than here. No mention has been made of religious beliefs or how each side party have to, at least to some point, need to rethink their religious views at least slightly if the basic premise were to be accepted.

But by natural extension of the possibility of two people with different political goals and ambitions actually being of one, or at least partially being one, shared lineage, well then the political would most certainly have to play a part in things.

The basic idea goes far beyond a possible shared, or possibly partially shared, lineage. It is more political than non-political since much of their political beliefs, along with their validations and justifications for various actions, are tied up in who each party believes themselves to be in relation to the other.

Things just haven't reached a point where that part is being discussed.

I think that minds are very powerful things. When one is under the conviction of something even a persons heritage can be taken out of play so that the things that are most basic to and even beloved of those convictions can take the foremost roles in that persons life even to the point of convictions becoming ones reason to live.

The font on that post has slithered out of my monitor and left a very unsightly stain on my desk.

It has now actually become a bit of a pool and is eating right through the wood. Holy cow. Please Sir, show some mercy.
